Another dog training tidbit for ya😃

For those of you with Aussiedoodles, and other similar breeds, you likely find it challenging to keep these highly intelligent breeds entertained! Try feeding the birds!

My boy, Bromley, noticed me shooing off the gluttonous neighboring squirrels when I feel they have had enough!
He has taken over the job! So, no real training to share, just letting Mother Nature do her thing.

Bromley enjoys the moments I let him out on the back porch to work. The picnic table serves as his lair 😈 and from there he is master of his domain! This guy is so smart, he doesn’t chase the birds…just squirrel. And yes, he knows when mama say’s SQUIRREL!
Who doesn’t love a happy guy with a job😂!

Well, good day to you all🙂

Here is another “training” (I confess, it’s really a management thing) tidbit with regard to clipping nails of our dogs who don’t want us clipping their nails!

So, here it is, my certified master trainer tip😂…

Each night as I settle in to watch a little tv, my Airedale Schultzy falls deeply asleep. Now with the volume turned up, I sneak around and settle myself onto a little stool I keep at the ready, just beside him. I am fortunate that Ol Shultz will often sleep on his back with all four legs up in the air! Lol

Now, you guessed it, without touching his feet though, I position the nail clipper and snip off that little bit of beginning curled tip of his nail…yep, just the one, because that’s all I am going to be able to get without him catching on!

Then, I “palm” those little nippers like a magician would, turn my back quickly like I wasn’t even paying attention to him and calmly walk off!

He will often stir as I walk away. He looks at me groggily for a second or two, then flops his head back down for more intense snoozing…none the wiser!😉

Sure, I’ll try and get another one in, in a little while, if I think I can pull it off, otherwise, there’s always tomorrow.

Now, I realize this won’t work in all instances (furry toes you have to be able to grab to see). Maybe you could grab one with stealth and get it clipped?…I leave that in your hands. But, for some of us, this can be a simple way to slowly get an otherwise difficult job, done😄
