Golden Island Thoroughbred Rescue Inc. Our mission will be to give retired racehorses, the rehabilitation, care and training they need to be skilled performance horses in the hunter/jumper circuit.

Horses may also be well suited for dressage, trail riding, pleasure riding and hunter/eq flat.

We are so pleased with Lucky’s first year of showing the circuit! This 7 year old loves his new life after the track! Lucky came straight off the track at 4 years old. We took him@on a few months after his last race. His mind and body were still very young and we could tell he needed to have a slow start to his new career. He has come a longggg way since learning to go from racing to the hunter/jumper life! Earning his trust has been an amazing journey and we are excited to continue his show career Vanderzicht Stables! πŸ”₯❀️🐎🐧🐧🐧

He was very brave and responsive moving up to some big 3’3 jumps! So proud of 7 year old Lucky Penguin in his first 3ft division at Westbrook Spring Fling! He only has 2 shows under his belt from last spring. It took almost 2 years to get him to pick up his right lead in the flat but he’s coming around! Great job lucky!
