This horse has been an over achiever since the day we met him! He has done nothing but climb the ladder in his career in such a short period of time and he did just that in HIT’s Vermont this year! River and I earned Take2 -3’ hunter circuit champions! Big shout out to Elizabeth Crieghton for taking on the A circuit this year full time and creating this incredible opportunity for us! More to come on Elizabeth and her amazing accomplishments with this champion as well! Thank you Amanda Elizabeth and Katie Olympia Dhosi for coming up and helping me get all of our Tb’s in the take2! What a great first day Summer Festival Horse Show for these 4 thoroughbreds!
All horses had a success day in the ushja and take2!
Great job to Bella and La Femme Petite on beautful rounds in the 3ft today!
Lucky Penguin, Bayside and Seeking Revenge all had a blast taking on the 3ft take2! Looking forward getting them back out there tomorrow!

So proud of these 2 young ottbs - when looking to purchase an off track thoroughbred please consider they have wear and tear from their previous career, might have a fixable kissing spine, might not have perfect confirmation and possible old scars from previous injuries that do not bother them at all. If they are given the proper time, care, training, vetting, shoeing and are showing signs of happiness in their new career they are able to thrive moving forward. They are such willing and athletic animals but are quick to be written off as not good enough by many. All 7 of our ottbs on property are competitive A circuit hunter jumpers. This is not a coincidence. We believe in them and if you need help with yours please contact us! They have hearts of gold and that’s all you need to accomplish your goals…

Our previous thoroughbreds have set the bar high and our young ones are continuing their path.

Lucky Penguin just turned 7- and Seeking Revenge just turned 8 - moved right into the USHJA 3’ hunters after only 2 years off the track. They were brought along slowly and at their own pace they receive excellent training, shoeing, vetting, care, lots of large turnout with buddies, Magnawave and massage therapy by Mending Fences Wellness. We are just soooo proud of both of them for their willingness and the trust they put into us to accomplish this! What a way to start off summer 2024 for these 2!

So proud of Lucky this week! His first time in the “big hunter ring” at Fieldstone this week! He is a 6 year old off track thoroughbred with tons of potential! He was very brave and responsive moving up to some big 3’3 jumps! We are so excited for him to continue in the take2 this summer and try to earn his way to the Kentucky national horse show in September! Golden Island thoroughbreds are given the care, time and training they need to get to their fullest potential. We are honored we get to work with such incredible athletes 🐧❤️🐧❤️🐧

So proud of 7 year old Lucky Penguin in his first 3ft division at Westbrook Spring Fling! He only has 2 shows under his belt from last spring. It took almost 2 years to get him to pick up his right lead in the flat but he’s coming around! Great job lucky! If you can’t tell, the name Golden Island thoroughbred Rescue came from our 2 senior mares that started our rescue and program off being the only 2 horses on the property ❤️❤️❤️ we now have 16 horses and a large barn family of rescue horses, sales horses, lessons students, leasers, owners, show team riders to make our farm filled with excitement!
A huge appreciation to Island Whirl Girl (20 years old)and Grub for Gold (25 years old) being the start of everything here on the farm 9 years ago ❤️❤️❤️❤️🐎🐎🐎🐎

All have an important role here no matter what age and what level they are at ❤️❤️❤️

Congrats to Bayside on yours 10th place finish at the Take2 Finals! We are sooo proud he made it into the top 12 finalists out of a large, competitive finals! This horse has such an athletic jump that the judges loved it! He loves showing off and he did just that! He also impressed us with a shoe flying off toward the end of his call back round and still finishing gracefully! There isn’t anything this horse can’t do. We are so happy he came just feel out and have fun in Kentucky this year! We are blown away he qualified this week and ended in the winners circle 🏆🏆🏆🏆🐎🐎🐎🐎❤️❤️❤️

Lucky Penguin had a fabulous first day off property! So proud of this brave little boy getting up to the .85 on his first outing since the track and placing in the top 7!
