Great news!! There is no fracture just signs of arthritis which we were already aware of since May from UC Davis visit. She's definitely doing better however she was not a happy camper when I picked her up last night as she was letting the world know how upset she was when she left the vet's office. As a side note the day before when we went to the vet they had given her an injection for an anti-inflammatory and pain medicine and she left them a nice little present on the table if you know what I mean. LOL💩

And boy do I have a little pistol on my hand. Bring her to bed she walks to the end of the bed and I tell her no don't jump and as soon as I get up to get her she jumped to go get a drink of water. SMH Derrick Campana

A little worried about my girl today she jumped off the bed and injured her upper leg portion. She is going in tomorrow to be sedated and have x-rays. The doctor gave her injections today of an anti-inflammatory and pain meds which has helped ease her discomfort and pain. I will keep you posted on our girl. She is such a fighter

Happy 7th birthday🎉🥳🎂 to this sweet girl!! A big thank you to the landscapers that brought her in to the HumaneSociety, the Humane Society for not putting her down and giving her a chance at life and lastly her loving foster parents! We go back to UC Davis this month for them to check her out and see how she's progressing. estra

Our friends at Chewy sent Patches an early birthday card. I like the caption of " yeah Mom, I did try eating the card I thought they sent me treats... they always send me treats. " *look close and you can see teeth marks at the top of the card* LOL

Thought I would post a video showing Patches with one of her many talents. I taught her how to "shake" when she was a baby and as a reward she would get her head rubbed even more! Had a bit of a scare this morning with my fearless and adventurous little Miss Patches this morning.

Yesterday I moved my mattress and box spring and had it leaning up against the wall. I went to do an errand last night come home and she was on top of it, so I took her down and told her "no", then we all went to bed.

Sometime this morning she snuck out of the bedroom and I think climbed up there and jumped down because her one nub was bleeding and she came into the bedroom and she was crying, and favoring it. Not that she would put a lot of pressure on her notes in general however, she won't put any pressure on it.

I gave her some pain medication left over from her brothers procedure and she's starting to get a little comfortable.

But boy I feel terrible and sorry for her!!! Hopefully she'll take a nap and feel better. I'm keeping a good eye on her!

Here are pictures from her little makeshift hospital bed, her sister visiting her, and patches taking a nap however she would keep nudging to be close to her sister. she literally fell asleep with her paw on her sister's head

Lil Miss Patches, her sister and brother got a nice gift from the Johnsons. She had never been in a tunnel and she was hilarious. I would say it was a two thumbs-up or in her case to Paws up!

Animal Ortho Care: Pet Prosthetics, Orthotics, Braces and More

Latest update... Little Miss patches has been doing absolutely awesome. She is jumping from the sofa landing on her front feet and she's actually using her stubs and letting me touch them more. I used a laser the other day and she just ran ran ran trying to catch that thing.

But the update is on the Prosthetics. I'd seen a video online about a gentleman (Derrick Campana, CO
Director of Orthotics at Animal Ortho Care in Virginia).
that is doing amazing thing with animals and prosthetics. I emailed him this weekend and this was his response:

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, it looks like the amputation levels are too high to make safe, functional prosthetic devices. For cats, i need at least 1 inch below the level of the hock/tarsus. I wish that were not the case. Sorry and good luck.

Went to Friends of Animals spaghetti feed and couldn't help but bid on this for Little Miss patches. My other cats always go out on leash and harness but she's unable to do that with only having two legs so we're going to see how she likes it. I had one previously and my cat's loved it.

Well it appears that little Miss patches is such a big girl now. LOL she would sit on the sofa with. me and look up at the back and see her brothers and sisters hanging out looking out the window then one day she decides she's going to get up there she literally used her back legs to jump off of my chest to get up there. I was so amazed as I never thought she would actually jump. But then again this little kitty has surprised me in so many ways of things that she'll do.

Happy 2017! We are going to have a cart made & will be starting on that in the middle of the month. I continue to do physical therapy with her since her back is always hunched over. I am hoping the cart will help her even more. She has been very cute as we moved to a new place and it has plush carpet. She's actually using her back legs a little more and running and jumping off of furniture. She certainly does not have any fears. I will be attaching a video showing her playing with a weimaraner I'm pet-sitting for. The two of them just love each other. Sweet Riley is so careful and gentle when she is around her. This is one of her recent photos in her new bed she got for Christmas.

Wow life has been a whirlwind for the last several months. We're still working with UC Davis. They are wanting to do implants by the doctor in Tennessee. I'm still not a hundred percent sure that I want to do that to her because her legs are so tiny. Disappointed and feeling defeated. Our trip to UC Davis the neoprene pants would not work as she would pull her leg out every single time is she so limber not only that but she would scream just with putting them on. They're going to talk to the doctor and see if implants are a way to go although I'm not real hip on implants at this point. I'm going to compile a letter and all pictures of the Prosthetics that we've tried and send it off to Ortho pets in Colorado and see what they might say or come up with
