Meet Lionel! He’s a 7 month old cat that has been suffering from upper respiratory infections. We treated him with antibiotics and on the recheck exam he was still congested, so we knew it was xray time! Radiographs showed a massive nasopharyngeal polyp, which we removed today! He was such a champ for surgery and is recovering well!

This is Holly! She came into the clinic at the beginning of November with an ear infection. On exam she had moderate inflammation and debris in the ear. We cleaned and treated it with a medication called Claro that sits in the ear for one month. At the time of the one month recheck the inflammation and debris was reduced and Dr. Ingrid noticed something strange deep down in the ear canal. She pulled out foxtails, which are small weeds with a barbed end that can become embedded in the skin! In more intense cases, foxtails can be found in the GI or respiratory tract and if they are ingested or inhaled, they can cause severe irritation. So always be on the lookout for these pesky weeds if your pet likes running through tall grass or fields!
