Hello everyone! I wanted to let you know that Hardworking Hounds and I have recently moved to Mott, ND, after my graduation and other life changes. Although I will miss my clients in Valley City, I am excited to emBARK on this new chapter and continue to learn and grow with a new group of people. Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years.

Sara and Moxie are one of our teams that passed their Canine Good Citizen test this past class! They are now moving forward and working on some trick dog titles in our trick group class! I can't wait to see what this team can accomplish in the future!

Hello everyone!

We have lots of exciting announcements to make!

First off, we have new contact information and have renovated our website! We now have a phone number, (701) 840-6379, and have a new email inbox, [email protected]. We are excited to have even more ways to contact clients and get in touch as needed!

We also have expanded our options for the next course season! We now have three different types of classes available:

Our Beginner Boot Camp class is still here to stay! This course is for dogs over 6 months of age and goes over and prepares teams to be able to pass AKC's Canine Good Citizen test.

Puppy Practice is a new group class we will be offering, which is for dogs under 1 year of age. This class goes over the material laid out by AKC's STAR Puppy program and helps teams make a bond with their dog so they can grow together!

The Growing Graduates class is also new this year, and is for dogs that have already completed Beginner Boot Camp or have a CGC title already. This class is aimed at teams that would like to begin doing some competition obedience, or just would like to make their current skills sharper. The objective of this course is to get teams ready to compete for their Beginner Novice obedience title.

We still offer private lessons as well for teams that would like to have an individualized experience, and we offer evaluations for all of the titles in the Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog series, as well as Virtual Home Manners and one leg of the Farm Dog Certified title (must be evaluated by two different judges to get the title).

We can't wait to work with you all again or meet any of our new teams!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Hardworking Hounds Head Trainer Heather just was approved to evaluate the Farm Dog Certified Test! This will be added to the list of titling opportunities that we will be offering- keep an eye on our page and pages in the community for dates we will be offering testing spots! In the meantime, we wish you the best in training- we miss seeing you all in classes and lessons and can't wait to work with you again this summer!

Hello everyone!

Thanks for such an amazing season! We are wrapping things up for this summer, but please don't hesitate to keep in touch! I am hoping that we can plan a refresher course or some fun runs when I return to the Valley City area for a few weeks this winter- let me know if you would be interested!

I can't wait for next summer when I will have more of an opportunity to help you all reach your goals!

So happy that these two stuck it out! Both passed their CGC, CGCU, and CGCA tonight! They have grown so much with their dogs- I can't wait to see what these teams accomplish in the future!

Hardworking Hounds head trainer Heather just received her AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator certificate! We will now be able to offer evaluations for the CGC, CGCU, and CGCA titles, provide STAR puppy classes in the future, and test teams for all levels of their Trick Dog titles!

This week's featured team is Taylor Fiedler & Eris! This team is enrolled in our Beginner Boot Camp group class, and they are already showing major improvement! The communication between dog and handler with this team is phenomenal, and I can't wait to see how they continue to improve over the next weeks! Well done!

Welcome to Hardworking Hounds Training Services! Let me introduce myself, my name is Heather and I am the head trainer and founder of Hardworking Hounds. I started this service in hopes that I could help owners connect with their dogs and reach their training goals, whatever that may look like for them. My experience with dogs and training starts at a very young age, as I went almost every year when my mother was teaching obedience courses since I was born. By age 8, I started to handle dogs for the first time and train for the show ring through my local 4-H program, and I continued to show for 4-H in obedience, showmanship, and rally until I aged out of the program at 18. At that point, I began owner-training my service dog, who I use every day to help me with my disabilities. Through all of this, I was shown the value of working with a dog, gaining their trust and respect, and building a wonderful relationship with my dogs. I hope we can work together so that you can achieve the same with your dogs!
