This $5 Friday we are asking for donations to go towards our TNR efforts.
This sweet lady is a prime example of why we need TNR. When a foster agreed to take Clementine, we were under the impression she was a male cat! When he arrived to his foster on a Thursday evening, we knew he was really a she AND she was very pregnant.
We crossed our fingers and hoped that we could squeeze her into our next clinic. Well Friday morning, Clementine decided she was ready to meet the kittens. Unfortunately, these kittens were all breeched which can be a very dangerous situation. Thankfully, minimal intervention was needed but her kittens were stillborn.
After Clementine, recovered from her delivery, we were able to spay her and gain a little insight on her condition. It took over an hour to spay Clementine and repair her hernia. Her uterus was in terrible condition most likely due to having so many litters of kittens. Thankfully, were able to put an end to her momma cat days. While losing the kittens was heartbreaking, we were able to save her life.
Many people dont realize the inportance of TNR and Clementine's case really hightlights why we need to make it a priority.
