Look at that impulse control! Crate work is a requirement if you come to us at Canine Defined! If you start out by allowing them to shove out of the crate and not requiring them to be mindful, you’re starting it off on the wrong foot! We want them thinking and controlling themselves before we start the working! Amazing job to these guys!❤️
This group likes the “chase me” style of play! Here we have Owen, Sparky, and Mochi!
We always laugh at Emma with her ball but how interesting it is to see how she tolerates the other dogs playing around her.
Teenagers!!!!!!!🙄
Am I right?!? Mine has reached a plateau with me and I asked Lisa for help. Mochi knows things but she didn’t want to listen to me and pay attention to what I was actually asking. Which showed me a flaw in how I reached her some automatic behaviors. You’ll notice “lay down” is her go to. I want to have calm conversations with her while we work. Listen to Lisa and I chat as she works with Mochi and explains what I need to do with her!
Stark- Beginning of Place
With the holidays finally here, I have had a lot of people in and out of my house. It made me realize I needed to start working on a "Place" with both of my dogs. I make sure I only work one at a time and have no distractions at first. As you advance with place, you can add more distraction. Watch and listen as Lisa explains how to work on the beginning stages of place while Kelcey and Stark work!
Papito Catch Nose Touch
Here we are capturing a nose touch from Papito! Using different techniques for different dogs! We look at every dog as an individual, one training method may work for one dog and not for the other. Good job, Papito!
Playing with Toys - Wolfie and Lisa
Does your pup have some bad habits when playing with toys? Doesn't engage with you? Takes the toy and hides? Lisa shows a great way to create engagement and thoughtfulness with your pup while having fun. Creating a better relationship! (Wolfie is so cute!)
Wolfie PreMack Principle
"Eat your veggies then you may have dessert!" Also known as the Premack Principle. Continued with puppy Wolfie. Look at all three videos and how the difference at what life stage they are in dictates what out requirements are!
Petey PreMack Principle
"Eat your veggies then you may have dessert!" Also known as the Premack Principle. Continued with Mr. Petey... a teenager! Compare his requirements to Pac posted last night! So interesting!
Pac Premack Principle
"Eat your veggies then you may have dessert!" Also known as the Premack Principle. Here is what it looks like with dogs of different learning stages of their life. First, we are starting with Pac. He is an a mature guy. He has been training longer so we can expect and ask more of him. Stay tuned!
