I normally don’t do this. But we have to do better as breeders and business. Making sure business is good.. I’m out of $1500 for a pup I’ve been waiting for. Back in 2021 I stepped in on a stud credit for $500. And when there was no confirmation on that breeding I chalked it up got back in touch with the breeder who I got the stud credit from and his reply was don’t worry about it you can use one of my males here. So that’s what I decided, 7 months later my female came in heat, I made the trip to him, dropped my girl off and come to find out he never even mated them. So another failed attempt, wait another 7 months, and my girl comes back in heat again, but by this time my own male is of age to produce, so to make sure it goes down I do my first in house breeding and Bingo!! It hit. During this process I’m keeping in touch with this breeder, and contact him about a pup he produced that I was interested in. So we agree on a price that includes that initial $500 I gave on that failed stud credit. We agree on me buying a pup for $1500 total. So I jump out and give him an extra $1000.. get the pup only to find out something is seriously wrong with it. Again, I contact him talk it over and we both agree to return the pup and the plan was to wait on a future breeding that he was planning and that $1500 will go towards the future pup. Fast forward 2 years there has been no breeding, no litters, based on what I was told. So I inform him that I’m making the transition from standard bullies to pockets. And I told him since I haven’t got a return on my $1500, let me get my money back so our business can be closed and I can proceed with my program.. as of 4/27 I haven’t got a text back, call back, email or anything.. So I’m taking this as a loss, hopefully he sees this post and decides to make business right, if not then it is what it is. Lesson learned 💯
