In honor of National Cookie Day, Cookie is gonna get her own post. she's still a work in progress, but she will be my rockstar if I have it my way.

Nobody talks about losing your groove after having a kid, and how long it takes to figure things back out. Used to, I could & I would ride anything. Any style, any level, any time. Now as I come back to riding after having my daughter I haven't had a finished horse to run. Just c**t after c**t, looking for one that had what it takes. Now here she is, my favorite color, nicely bred, papered, confirmationally correct, all the things. And I couldn't tell you how many times I have wanted to throw my sucker in the mud, sell her, give up.

Don't give up.

Give it a break, even a month or two, go trail ride, turn her out to grow, but don't sell the horse. You'll end up needing her more than you know.

Do I have much easier horses to run standing in my pasture. YES.

Do I have horses that are closer to being "finished" YES.

Do I have horses that were started & broke by the best in the business, are point and go, anyone can ride. YES.

But she's a challenge, she's different, she has what it takes.

Don't give up.

Out of an abundance of caution following the recent reports of an EHV outbreak and confirmed cases in Central Texas, we have made the decision to no longer allow haul-ins at this time. Whether thats for arena rental or a scheduled lesson using your own horse. We have not made the decision to cancel any other events or any lessons using our Crazy A horses as we are awaiting debriefing by state officials regarding their recommendations & timelines for events.

The health and well-being of our Crazy A equine residents remains our highest priority. Our heartfelt prayers are with all those affected by this devastating virus.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will announce a new update as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so. Thank you for your understanding and compassion as we navigate this challenging and emotional time for many of our friends and fellow barrel racers. We will keep you posted as we are taking steps one day at a time.
