Curiosity in Humans to improve the Equine Partnership

A challenge I have in so many cases of Equine Rehabilitation and Re-education is stimulating Curiosity... in the HUMAN.

Horses amazingly, despite their past trauma(s) in most scenarios are still willing to try, if the human offers clear, supportive communication, helping the equine's fear diminish as their curiosity increases.

But humans? Such a struggle. Their fears, anticipation, what-ifs, distractions, past experiences can often become a fixation and mental block in their ability to be (and stay) mentally present "in the now" during the interaction with the horse.

As I often say, the horse is mirroring the human’s mental and emotional state.

If a person is self-absorbed in their fear, self-doubt, or masking their mental block(s), the horse will often reflect the human chaos during the interaction with avoidant and defensive behaviors.

Yet when a person chooses to become available to observation without judgement, to believing the horse's communication, to refining the Quality of interaction, to offering the horse time to mentally process, absorb, and retain new information, it is immediately visible in changes in the horse's mental, emotional, and physical state.
