Intro to rider fit tip part 1
Welcome to wellness Wednesday! We are trying a new thing where we will do videos (hopefully live soon) but the goal is to help educate, answer questions, bust myths, and overall help with equine and rider health wellness!
Week one, with the new year and many making fitness resolutions we thought it would be fun to kick off with some rider fitness tips. Just like our equine athletes, we as riders need to be in shape to avoid injury and help our horses. To help us today we met up with @emariemccarrel to teach some easy ways to strengthen your hip flexors! This is a common problem area for equestrians, so please don’t be shy to ask questions, we want to engage and help 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Get your equine athlete what they really want for Christmas…a spa day with us at Elite Rehab & Conditioning 🎄🎅🏼🐎
So excited for the double down ranch team on this amazing ride! We had chills watching!! What an incredible athlete this young horse is!
We are excited to be home doing what we love! Make an appt today! We offer gait analysis, body work, rehab and conditioning!
Your daily dose of giggles and laughs with the ERC crew! We love our job ❤️
As part of his rehab, Elite Rehab & Conditioning Bob has to walk straight lines to engage and use the correct muscles, we put him in the treadmill dry to help him do this. He also gets daily activations, massage and myofacia release as well as routine chiropractic work and special shoeing.
Myofacia release is a huge factor in helping with weakened muscles and affected facia! Watch as our body worker helps hydrate and smooth this horses longissimus Dorsi, in return the facia will send signals to the brain and body to activate this muscle and help to rebuild it as we start to rehab and condition the body as a whole.
Getting their wiggles out in the sunshine!!! We love when the cutting queens come to visit us at ERC! We have openings for haul in, our dirt is soft and safe and the treadmill is a great alternative for riding in the cold!
Thanks @doubledownranch for trusting us with these #eliteathletes

What are some benefits of the aquatred:
The underwater treadmill will mimic the gait of your horse while the resistance of water will build stamina, strength and endurance. Water density is some 12 times greater than that of air. This combination makes hydrotherapy an excellent way to recondition a horse after an injury or surgery and to improve fitness, just as it is for human athletes.
The buoyancy and resistance of the water reduces the level of weight bearing on joints, tendons and ligaments. It is of great benefit for older horses who suffer from arthritis.
It's also used for fitness - from more air capacity, to stamina, to adding bulk muscle.
One of the safest and most effective means to exercise a horse and recondition him, is in the water. It has been found that horses take to it very quickly and gain tremendous benefit from this low impact, low stress form of exercise year round. AquaTred underwater treadmill is perfect for post surgical work (instead of hand walking) and as a reconditioning device for horses post-surgically or after lay-ups.
You can control the speed from slow, soft walk to an aerobic, or big power walk or long trot.
We have a temperature controlled facility which keeps us up-and-running year round, even in the worst of weather.
Our schedule is starting to book out, so get with us to schedule your horse to be in top condition this winter!!
So we did a thing this past weekend! One step closer to opening our doors!!!! It’s getting real!!!! Special thanks to our super trooper husbands and crew! It was a little intense at times 😂😂🥂
