Mares from top warmblood pedigrees are the foundation of our breeding program. We select stallions with proven performance and offspring that complement each mare’s conformation, character, and athletic ability. We also breed hunter ponies based on the Caspian Horse, a rare and athletic breed with an ancient history. We take pride in the high level of care given to our mares and young stock, inclu

Our goal is to provide top quality mounts with the mind and athletic ability to achieve your dreams. Veterinarians Mary and Tom Ellenberger have been breeding horses and ponies since 2008. They are involved in all aspects of the care and upbringing of Maefield’s horses and ponies, in partnership with a team of professional horse trainers and equine veterinarians. Vander Ijs ("Ice") celebrates his one month birthday today. This handsome c**t by Iceman de Muze is built for jumping, and radiates the intelligence of his dam, Imalottie SPF (Zavall-Goodtimes). He is perceptive and outgoing towards the horses and humans in his orbit.

An exciting day mowing pastures to promote growth and control weeds before hot weather sets in. We're off to a good start this year. Hope there's more rain in store to get us through the dog days of summer.

The sweetest foal of 2025 has to be jet black Hanoverian filly Diva. She was born 28 Mar. Sired by Dubarry and out of Dulcinea GKF. Her full brother, Divinely Dupre, is starting under saddle at present. We expect Diva to become a superb dressage mare.

Our Zavall - Goodtimes mare, Imalottie SPF, has outdone herself with this big c**t by Iceman de Muze. Born last night, he stood up and checked all the boxes, started nursing, and captured our hearts with his cuteness. He needs a name starting with the letter "V."

Who needs a strapping c**t by Sarkozy? Baby is stretching his legs during his first excursion outside at less than 2 days old. First time mom Desiderata (Dacaprio - Wolkenstein II) has a great work ethic and is taking motherhood in stride.

Our pretty filly Birdie (Uberlottie M) has outgrown the "baby" halters and moved into the one she will wear for her keuring in September. Looking forward to seeing DeAnna Stueve Greulich and the wonderful folks at Norwegian Hill Farm for this fun and educational event.

Birdie is by Victor E (Indoctro - Nimmerdor) and out of our Lottie line mare Imalottie SPF ster PROK (Zavall - Goodtimes). Great to see those super bloodlines right before our eyes!

The beautiful and talented Ottumwa M, a favorite foal of Maefield Farm, is wowing them in California. Super smart and amazingly calm, five-year-old "Tumi" is a model of composure for stablemates twice her age.

Ottumwa's 2019 keuring photo with her beautiful dam, Zorphee keur, represents one of our treasured moments. Tumi was awarded Champion Jumper Foal in the US by KWPN - NA for her top score in foal keuring. She was and is something special!

Meals on wheels. Got restocked on hay this weekend. The brome grass is thick. A wet July has caused delays in putting up hay, but the growth conditions were good and it has good leaf content. We are fortunate to have so much good hay produced locally. We really appreciate our "hay guys."

Any similarities in these 2 photos? Top is Ottumwa M in Nov 2021. Bottom is her full brother, Sandulf M, taken today. These 2 beauties are both Dulf vd Bisschop x Zorphee keur. Ottumwa ("Tumi") received Champion Jumper Foal at her keuring in 2019. Sandulf ("Sandy") missed his 2022 foal keuring due to Covid cancellation.

In addition to their beautiful conformation and superb jumping ability, both siblings are calm and willing students. The bottom photo shows Sandy's first wearing of a saddle from this morning.

Both Tumi and Sandy are owned by our favorite fellow-DVM repeat buyer in southern California. Maefield horses from sea to shining sea! Sandy remains with us in Missouri for now, enjoying his c**t playmates and getting an excellent start with our expert trainer, Hope Saldaña.

Baby's first rainstorm. After a very wet spring, it's been mostly dry here since Uberlottie M ("Birdie") was born on 30 May. So she's watching this evening's thunderstorm with interest. Our horses always station themselves on their porches facing out to the storm. Well, except for dam Imalottie SPF, who's hungry.

Uberlottie M is by Victor E (Indoctro - Nimmerdor), a 1.60 m jumper. Aside from his stellar pedigree, Victor E was chosen to add a bit more height and length to Birdie. Happy to report that it appears to have worked, at least the back length part.

First outing for 3 day old filly by Victor E (Indoctro) out of Imalottie SPF (Zavall VDL). The filly was a bit colicky and spent 2 nights at the https://www.facebook.com/MUEquineClinic. She's home now and full of s***k, just like her mom. Big thank you to Drs. Townsend and Gonzalez and their team for caring for our baby!
