Prong collars one of the most controversial training tools, I use them for specific dogs, not always and I use them in a way that is fair for dogs and aversive enough to stop unwanted behavior. What are your thoughts on prong collars?

Working in public with Annie. I’ve been gone for 4 days but now we are back and she’s better than before I left. In petco I put Annie in a down without any verbal command, just placing the leash on the ground. She breaks down once but I give a verbal “fix it” cue. We end with a beautiful come to heel. We still have over a week of training left to do.

If you want to bring more mental stimulation to your training exercises and want to encourage your dog to use their brain more take a hands off approach! Your dog is smart and capable of performing new behaviors without training wheels!

What is an E-Collar? My answer- The most empowering tool you can use on a dog period.

When your dog is offleash they are able to have a sense of freedom and more opportunity for enrichment than most other dogs on this earth.
Does that mean I’m turning up the collar to high levels of stim to punish my dog for not being around me? Of course not! I love my dog and want what’s best for her overall well-being.

Regardless if you don’t agree with a training tool because you are ignorant of how they work that doesn’t give you the right to sit on a pedestal and point fingers down on people who think differently than you.

Often times when a dog has a reaction there are 3 common precursors to a reaction. 1) A tense/stressed out owner 2) a tight leash 3) An owner standing next to their dog. Take away these three things and see if it helps your dog.
