It’s kitten season! Did you know that in just seven years, a pair of cats with their offspring could produce 420,000 kittens! The average size of a litter is 3-5 cats and a cat can have 3 litters a year!

In a trap or not, it’s $90 to get kitties fixed and $15 for a rabies vaccine!

Look at these precious babies thriving and ready for their new homes through Good Catch Dog Rescue !

We had the pleasure of meeting them when they unfortunately wound up with parvovirus 😢 If left untreated, parvovirus has a 91% mortality rate. 💔Pavovirus can survive over two years in the environment and we can prevent very easily with a DAPPL vaccination but these babies did not have the luxury of receiving a vaccine.

We treated them with the Parvo monoclonal antibody therapy, a new injection that is saving lives! It can be used in the sick to stop the virus in its tracks and it can be used in those exposed to keep them from getting sick, saving lives and thousands of dollars! On November 16th, we were asked to help an overcrowded shelter in Bastrop County TX with a family of 9 puppies and their mom. Mom is named Croia (pronounced Creeya) and her name means "of the heart". Her pups all have names having to do with the heart. They are survivors of parvo and kennel cough an...

'Tis the season for porcupines! Shorty & Chunky are pictured here with their battle wounds after meeting up with a porcupine!

Fortunately, these babies are very mild cases. Sometimes the quills are lodged in the roof of their mouth, under their tongue, and even down their throat. Quills can migrate through the skin and toward the chest and cause pneumonia.

If your dog encounters a porcupine and gets quilled, it is recommended to seek care as soon as possible.

Do not attempt to remove or cut the quills yourself, as this can complicate the extraction process. Try to prevent your furry friend from rubbing their face or the area where the quills are located, as this can cause them to become embedded deeper into the skin. Removing the quills can be a painful and tedious process, so sedation is often recommended.

Did you know dogs can get nose jobs too?!?!

Dr. Beiseigel & little Nutmeg showing off her new nose after her stitches were removed 🤩 We performed a stenotic nares wedge resection on little Nutmeg when she was spayed about a week ago!

Furry friends with adorably smushed faces, like little Nutmeg, have extra pressure and noises in their airway due to stenosis nares or small nose holes. A wedge resection can be performed to open up the airway and improve quality of life!

Nutmeg was adopted through Charming Pet Rescue
