Success! Lawson met a stranger today and was completely calm. No jumping no storm of energy just a nice polite young man meeting a new friend. We are nearing the end of our 3 weeks with Lawson and I am so excited to see him rocking it at home with his parents ❤️

If you are ever feeling like a failure as you are training your dogs please remember that dogs will be dogs. You are doing the best you can with a creature that has its own mind and motivations. Larue’s motivations to jump the fence and run away this morning were certainly not motivations we shared, but alas the trainer was made to look the fool. No matter how much experience you have no matter how well trained your dog is they are still going to do what motivates them the most in the moment. Larue is a hunting dog packed full of genetics developed over hundreds of years that tell her to chase the skunk. I in fact can not offer anything more motivating than her natural instinct. So in closing. Breathe. Dogs will be dogs. You have not failed you just learned something new about your dog that you can use to better your relationship in the future.

Some very good girls accompanied me on a trip to Arkansas last weekend. We said goodbye to a wonderful foster as she embarks on her next adventure ❤️

Hello everyone! Thank you all for your continued support! I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be shifting everything over to a new account and page within the week. Unfortunately meta has locked this account for “identity verification issues” and even though I have done all of the steps to fix it I have now had my ads pushed out of state completely. We took a moment to celebrate a very special original fairy. King is a former foster pup that found a home with the most amazing human. His mom received the devastating news that he has the dreaded C word and wanted to do something special for him before we have to say goodbye. I had the great honor of giving him an end of life photo shoot. I am so grateful to have been a part of his journey and hope this brings him mom a little comfort. Hug those babies tight and give them an extra cookie in honor of The King 👑

Is your dog afraid of the vet? You aren’t alone many dogs suffer from anxiety when at the vet. There are some things we can do to make things less stressful. Play a game while you wait! A snuffle mat or some trick training can go a long way to making vet visits fun! Are vaccinations and emergencies the only time you go to the vet? Try just popping in for a treat a few times. This can help prevent your pup from only associating the vet with something negative. Remember your mood transfers to your pup. If you are stressed they will be too. Take a deep breath your vet will take good care of you.

Hello everyone! You may have noticed that our location has changed. We decided that it was time to go home and have relocated back to the Austin area. We are taking November off to focus on settling our pups in to our new home but we will be taking clients starting in December! Get those Christmas reservations in!

Fairytails’ own Eragon and Luna showed off their acting chops this morning. They were perfect angles and we had a blast!

Working on some impulse control with miss Beetlejuice. Atwood’s is one of my favorite places to train because there are a lot of unique distractions. Remember dogs need help to generalize a behavior. They may be perfect at home but if you want your dog to understand behaviors in new places you need to expose them to many different environments.
