This horse is a superstar!
2nd time being entered and Rocket runs .4 faster than last week, jumps up a division and is a second off the fast time.
He ran a 17.3 last night to be 4th in the 3D and win money in the futurity side pot.
There is so much we can improve about last nights run and he’s still got more to give.
This horse is so dang special 🤍🤍

I came home one very happy cowgirl on Thursday!💕
Rocket entered his first race ever last night and it was my first race in 4 years.
Rocket went in there and ROCKED IT! It felt like we were really running but looking at the video we’re hardly running😅 We ran a 17.7 and he won about $120 and we have more to give. I am beyond excited for this horse and our future.
His first race and he placed AND won money, I feel like one lucky girl

I’m over the moon!
I’ve waited a long time for this horse. We’ve had our ups and downs over the last 3 years and our fair share of obstacles, and I’ve waited a long time to be able to add to his list of earnings. Only upward from here 💕💕
Rocket is sure on track for 2023 futurities!!! He’s my first futurity colt and I can’t wait to keep improving with him♥️🚀
COOLEST. TWO YEAR OLD. EVER.
I might be crazy, but after speaking with a friend that says they start their colts bareback for several reasons, I had to try it.
My 2 year old that’s only been worked with for a little under 2 weeks surpassed all expectations.
I had his halter on along with a snaffle for something extra to grab onto but after realizing it was confusing him, I took the bridle off. He was worked with the bit before this and was learning to give to it.
This is my first two year old so I am still learning and don’t claim to be doing everything exactly right, but I’m glad I have 2 year old with a 20 year old mind to be patient with me😉🥰
I’ve been bad about posting about this guy’s progress, but it’s not for lack of there being any!
Yesterday was day 4 of me working with him and 4th time ever even seeing a saddle. He’s figured out how to work in a round pen, picks up correct leads, takes a saddle perfectly, flexes both directions, and has had me sit on him with no issue. He’s taken a bit twice and takes it well but is still trying to figure out how it feels in his mouth.
This colt is so confident and sure of himself and my biggest problem will be keeping him entertained. He gets bored quickly so we keep our training short.
I am so excited for him and his future🤩❤️ #countrockit
