Thank you all for the support and understanding during this time as we navigate toward closing our doors on July 31st, 2025. We understand it is important to find a new veterinary facility for you and your pets as soon as possible. However, it is important to reach out to the facility you are interested in, in advance, to ensure they are the best fit and willing to take on new clients.
We are happy to email any records to you personally, download them to a flash drive (you must drop off a flash drive for staff), or print them for pick up at the clinic. We can forward records to the facility of your choosing, once you have notified the practice.
We do have a few in-clinic appointments left at the end of the month to update your pets on any needed vaccinations. We do still have sick pet/urgent pet appointments open on a limited basis as well. However, you may still be referred for care. If you have an appointment already scheduled, that will resume as normal unless otherwise contacted.
Thank you,
-Management

To Our Esteemed Clients, Friends, and Community,
It is with a deep sense of gratitude and reflection that I write to share the difficult decision that Prairie River Mobile Vet will be closing our doors on July 31, 2025.
Over the past 13 years, it has been an incredible honor and privilege to serve the people and pets of Wadena and the surrounding area. What began as an innate desire to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to an underserved region has grown into a remarkable journey—one filled with countless meaningful relationships, memorable moments, and unwavering community support.
Words cannot fully express how grateful we are to have had the trust of so many dedicated pet owners. We have truly cherished the opportunity to be part of your lives and to care for your beloved animals throughout their many life stages. Your kindness, loyalty, and partnership have sustained our practice and made this work profoundly rewarding.
This decision to close our practice has come only after much soul-searching and wholehearted consideration – it has not been made lightly. Ultimately, it reflects a personal need to shift focus and reprioritize my time; it is a decision rooted in family needs and the recognition of life’s ever-evolving seasons.
We understand that continuity of care is important. Medical records can be sent by email to your preferred clinic or hospital upon request until December 31, 2025. After that date, we will discontinue our medical record services and will no longer have access to these records.
If you would prefer a paper copy, please contact us at (218) 631-5826 by July 31, 2025 and we will prepare a printed copy for you to pick up at our address: 105 Ash Ave NE, Wadena, MN 56482.
After that date, we will only be able to be reached by email: [email protected].
Please allow for up to 72 hours for us to complete this task as we anticipate handling a high number of requests. If an emergency, please inform us when you submit your request and we will complete the request ASAP.
We will be holding in clinic Wellness-Only appointments, preventative screening tests and vaccinations the final two weeks of business, July 21st – July 31st to help allow for more of our clients and patients to procure services prior to our closure. These will be limited and filled on a first come, first served basis. We will do our best to accommodate you to help make sure your pets are protected with vaccines and parasite prevention to the best of our ability as we reach the conclusion of our business.
To all who have supported us, thank you for being part of this incredible experience. It has been one of the great honors of my life to serve this community. As we move forward, I carry with me immeasurable appreciation for every client, every pet, and every moment we’ve shared.
With sincere gratitude,
Dr. Christine Krell, DVM
