JAY needs your help
Did you know, dogs can experience a decline in their well-being when kept in a kennel for extended periods.
JAY has been in the kennel system much too long and needs someone to rescue him!
JAY (aka MOOSE), a 1.5 yr old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Terrier, Pit Bull, was born at Let Love Live to mama Echo and was adopted out as a puppy. But, when he grew into a big, bouncy, older pup, the family no longer wanted him. That's just fine with us because this sweet boy deserves so much more! If you are looking for your best bestie who will walk a 100 miles and a 1,000 more with you, look no further.
If you love big cheesy grins, then Jay is the man! He has the most toothy, BIG smile that tells you that this boy is nothing but a easy going and happy fellow. If you are looking for that guy who will make you smile and laugh every single day, even when you're sad, Jay is the one. Walks great on leash, plays well with other dogs, cats and kiddos.
He's about 53lbs, Neutered & UTD.
Jay is ready for the greatest love
of his life! Could that be you? Letlove.live/adopt Maybe you're not ready to adopt, how about fostering? Would you be willing to help this boy out of the kennel into a home.

Reason #6: Edith

Rescued 11/8/24

Every year, countless stray animals suffer and die from starvation, neglect, and the sheer cruelty of being forgotten. Many never even have a chance to fight, succumbing alone in the shadows of society’s indifference. Edith was nearly one of them.

She was spotted on a busy road, emerging from the woods—a fragile, emaciated figure searching desperately for something to keep her alive. Her ribs and bones jutted out, a stark testament to the unimaginable suffering she had endured. It’s heartbreaking to think how long she had been struggling, inching closer to the end with each passing day.

Thankfully, a kind soul saw her and couldn’t turn away. They began leaving food along the treeline and frantically reached out for help. Eventually, Edith was picked up by the local shelter, where she received the most basic necessities: food, water, a vaccination, and a dewormer. But her battle was far from over. Edith remained on the brink, a fragile shell of what she once was.

When she hit the shelter’s urgent list, her life hung by a thread. A kennel became available just in time, and we were able to pull her into our care. At the sanctuary, she was thoroughly evaluated, started on a tailored nutrition plan, and given the medications and vaccinations she so desperately needed.

In just a few weeks, Edith’s transformation has been remarkable. She’s gone from a skeletal 26 pounds to a healthier 35 pounds, much closer to a normal weight for her size and breed. But it wasn’t just her body that began to heal—Edith showed us her incredible spirit.

We quickly discovered that she was smart, obedient, and well-mannered. She knew basic commands and walked beautifully on a leash, proof that someone had once put time and care into her. So, what happened? How does a dog so full of potential end up starving and abandoned in the woods?

Edith’s story reminds us why we fight so hard for every single one. For every Edith, there are so many others who don’t make it. But this sweet girl, against all odds, was saved. And now she has a chance to thrive—a chance to live the life she’s always deserved.

Edith is our sixth reason. She is why we do what we do.

Reason #5: Why we do what we do - Danny Boy’s Story

Rescued: 11/24

Danny Boy’s story is one of heartbreak, resilience, and redemption. While attending an animal rescue event in Nashville, we got an urgent call about a dog lying in the yard of a church for days with an injured leg. Someone had placed food and water near him, but no one stepped up to provide the medical care he desperately needed.

Instead of compassion, the congregation saw him as a nuisance. Fearful that this gentle dog might harm their children, they called the sheriff demanding his removal. Our response to the sheriff’s department? “Someone in your community, the sheriff’s department, or the church needs to step up and help him. Pass the tithe basket and get this boy the care he deserves!”

Thankfully, the sheriff took him to the station, where three compassionate animal warriors sprang into action. They ensured Danny Boy received the veterinary care he needed and found a foster willing to take him into her home.

Danny Boy turned out to be nothing like the fears projected onto him. He’s kind, affectionate, and loving—absolutely no threat to anyone. It’s baffling why someone would abandon such a gentle soul, but perhaps it’s no coincidence that he sought refuge at a church—a place meant to provide sanctuary. When the church turned him away, we stepped in, guided by our unwavering belief that all of God’s creatures deserve love and care.

Danny Boy is safe now, but his story is a stark reminder of why we do what we do. For every Danny Boy, there are countless other dogs waiting for someone to fight for them.

As the year ends, we want to finish strong—but we need your help. Dogs like Danny Boy are counting on us, and we simply can’t save them without the funds to act. Every dollar you donate makes a direct impact, helping us rescue, heal, and rehome dogs who need us the most.

Join us in giving hope to the hopeless. Donate today and be the reason dogs like Danny Boy get a second chance. Together, we can make this a season of rescue and transformation.

Reason #4: Why We Do What We Do

On November 27th, we were alerted to a heartbreaking situation. A neighbor near the rescue had spotted a severely matted and starving dog lingering near the shop on her property. For days, he watched from a distance, hoping for someone to feed him. Thankfully, she was able to catch him and bring him to us so we could provide the medical care and grooming he desperately needed.

Shaggy D’s condition was shocking. His matted fur was so severe it caused him immense pain every time he tried to move. His fear was palpable, and it was clear he had been neglected for far too long. For several days, we gave him the space to decompress, letting him know he was finally safe and that we were here to help—not harm—him.

When the time came to finally remove the painful mats from his body, Shaggy D began to turn a corner. Slowly but surely, the sweet, happy boy hidden beneath his fear and pain emerged. Today, Shaggy D’s spirit shines brightly, and he reminds us why we do what we do.

It doesn’t take much to be kind. There is absolutely no excuse for allowing a dog to suffer like Shaggy D did, abandoned and left without food, water, or any way to ease his pain. But here’s the good news: we are here to save the day.

With your help, we can keep saving more animals like Shaggy D. As a nonprofit, we rely on your support to continue our work. You’ve heard us ask before, and we’ll keep asking because every donation, every like, every comment, and every share makes a difference.

If you can donate, please do—every dollar goes directly to saving lives (it’s also a tax write off 🫶) But even if you can’t give money, you can still help.

• Engage with our posts: Like, comment, and share them to your page or story.
• Tell your friends and family: Share our profile and ask them to give us a follow.
• Help spread the word: The more people know about us, the more lives we can save.

Shaggy D is just one of many who needed someone to step up and care. Together, we can ensure that every dog like him gets the second chance they deserve. Thank you for being part of this journey—let’s keep saving lives together.

Sammy’s Story: From Neglect to Hope

On December 3rd, we were notified about a dog named Sammy who was brought to the shelter by his family, requesting euthanasia because they claimed he was “too old” at 20 years old. BUT we suspected otherwise. Sammy wasn’t old—he was severely neglected.

When we met him, Sammy was curled into a tight ball on his cot. As we opened the gate, he lifted his head, one eye crusted completely shut with yellow debris, the other barely visible through the filth. Despite everything, Sammy wagged his tail, sniffed around, and tried to crawl into my lap, desperate for comfort.

Sammy’s condition was heartbreaking. He was likely confined in a small crate for YEARS, unable to escape his own urine and f***s. His matted fur clung to his urine-scalded, swollen skin, and tufts dangled where he had tried to groom himself in desperation. His teeth were in poor shape (the ones that were left), his body frail, and his spirit shattered—but his true age wasn’t 20 as claimed; he was closer to 8 or 10!

In the short time we’ve had Sammy, he’s already made strides. Right away, we removed the gunk from his eyes, shaved off the painful mats, and gave him a soothing oatmeal bath. Now, Sammy walks well on a leash, gets along with other dogs, and is slowly learning that love and kindness are REAL.

We Need You Now More Than Ever ‼️
Sammy’s story is not unique. There are dogs like Sammy everywhere, enduring shocking neglect and abuse, waiting for someone to step in. But here’s the truth: we haven’t been raising enough to save as many as we’d like.

We’re asking for your help.

A small monthly donation of just $9—the cost of one cup of coffee and a croissant—could do MIRACLES for dogs like Sammy. These funds go STRAIGHT to rescuing, rehabilitating, and giving these animals the care they desperately need.

We know many people ask for your money, but this isn’t just another request. This is about life or death for animals that don’t have much time left.

Sammy deserved better—and so do the countless others still waiting for rescue. Will you help us make a difference? Please, consider donating. Every dollar truly counts.

GRAPHIC WARNING ⛔️‼️

Reason #2: This is Why We Do What We Do.

Rescued 12/11

Jack was found tethered by a wire in the backyard of his owner’s property after his owner passed away. The wire had embedded so deeply into his neck that it left a severe, raw wound circling his throat. In his desperation to free himself, Jack had chewed through the wire, causing him to lose his upper and lower front teeth. The pain he endured is unimaginable.

It was clear that Jack had been trapped in this isolated and agonizing condition for a long time, with no one stepping in to help.

Thankfully, the family contacted local animal control, who acted quickly. Jack was taken to a shelter where the embedded wire was surgically removed. On 12/11, we stepped in to continue his medical care and provide the stability he so desperately needed after enduring such horrific trauma.

We prepared ourselves to meet a broken dog, but Jack shocked us. Despite everything, he bears no emotional scars. This intelligent, sweet boy is just relieved to be warm, safe, and surrounded by love from our rescue team.

But we can’t stop asking ourselves: Why the hell was he being kept like this? How could anyone allow him to suffer so profoundly?

Jack is safe now, but more animals like him need our help. Your donations make it possible for us to keep rescuing dogs like Jack and providing the life-saving care they deserve. It’s up to you whether we can keep saying ‘yes’ to animals in need.

Humans need to do better. And with your help, we will.

Reason #1: This is Why We Do What We Do.

Did you know Texas leads the nation in animal cruelty offenses? In 2021 alone, 2,952 cases were reported, making up 17% of all cases nationwide—more than double the next leading state.

On December 10th, we received a heartbreaking call about a severely emaciated chihuahua found as a stray. Despite his frail condition, covered in fleas and in immense pain, he made no sound. X-rays revealed he had a fractured pelvis, a dislocated hip, and severe malnutrition.

How many people drove past this helpless boy without stopping? How could anyone let him suffer like this?

We are furious. We are heartbroken. But we are also determined.

Today, he is safe. He is warm. He is eating. He is receiving pain medication as our veterinarian prepares to give him the surgery he so desperately needs. His fight isn’t over, but his future is brighter.

This sweet soul deserves so much more—and we won’t stop fighting for animals like him.

Stay tuned for more stories this month as we share 15 reasons why we fight against animal cruelty. Together, we can be the light in their darkest hours.

⭐️Foster Friday Spotlight⭐️

Today we spotlight Kimberly and her family , she is newer to our foster team and here is what she has to say …
Hi, my name is Kimberly and I began fostering with LLL this October . I decided to foster for many reasons.
1. My love for animals has always been present in my life since I can remember.
2. I have always been a sucker for the underdogs, people and animals .
3. I have adopted through LLL and have had nothing but an amazing experience. So, what better way to assist an amazing organization.
4. I just can’t keep collecting dogs, lol!
5. I believe in spending life making a difference, giving to others, serving where you can, and helping to make this world a little better each day.
6. These animals need help and protection from unfortunate situations that they are in of no fault of their own. It’s the least I can do and what I give by fostering will never compare to what they give me each day!
7. If you’ve never fostered before, give it a try! The reward you receive by watching these dogs and cats shed their fears, insecurities, and become who they were meant to be, is the most wonderful thing to be apart of!!!

Thank you so much Kimberly !! We could not do it without each and every one of our fosters!❤️❤️❤️

Feeling the Love!

We are grateful for the love and compassion of our Let Love Live Rescue community every single day and appreciate your generosity as we approach the end of our 2024 giving campaign.

Thanks to our generous donors and our hero and friend, Don in MN, who supported our campaign with a matching gift of $2,250, more companions will feel joy in loving homes this holiday season.

None of this would be possible without the incredible commitment of our donors who help us rescue those at risk and provide critical care to support their well being while in our care.

Hats off to all of you who make this happen time and time again! Let’s rock this into the New Year!

With heartfelt thanks from all of us at Let Love Live!
