Pepper is doing a great job learning how to use her feet out in the hilly field. She’s also so much more confident and relaxed outside the arena. I love getting these guys moving out at the trot and canter in these fields. They learn to be confident and it really puts what they’re learning in an arena to the test! #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foundationtraining #foryou #fyp
Willow transitioned from the hackamore to the snaffle bit pretty seamlessly today for her 10th ride. ☺️ #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foundationtraining #coltstarting #foryou #fyp
When the arena is frozen, you work with what you have! Willow did amazing out in the big field for her 9th ride. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foundationtraining #coltstarting #foryou #fyp
Even with the wind and frozen ground, Willow’s 7th ride went very smoothly. In this part of the video, I’m continuing to build on steering and backing with softness. I will be transitioning her to a snaffle bit in the next few rides. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foundationtraining #foryou #fyp
With the ground being frozen solid, I spent the day working on body control at the walk/trot with the training horses. Last week, I introduced Pepper to side-passing on the fence a couple steps at a time, so today I decided to try it off the fence for the first time. She’s come a long way since she arrived 2.5 months ago. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #foundationtraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foryou #fyp
Got some girls together for training on the trail with Pepper out at Sandy Pines Preserve! We even saw a little snow towards the end of our ride. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #foundationtraining #trainingonthetrail #trailriding
Betty is here for a tune up after sitting for years. She is moving through the groundwork exercises very quickly and so far I’m really pleased with her mind and willingness considering her age. Today I continued to build on yielding the forequarters and I introduced lunging stage 1 and flexing. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foundationtraining #groundwork #foryou #fyp
It was a successful first ride on Willow, the 2.5 year old filly. She was very relaxed and unbothered. She’s on the duller side and her feet get sticky, so Laura Lynn did a great job helping me move her out today. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foundationtraining #coltstarting #foryou #fyp
Willow, the 2.5 year old filly, went through some first ride prep today. I’d say she’s ready! 🤗 #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #groundwork #coltstarting #foundationtraining #foryou #fyp
Session 1 with Betty, a 17 year old mare, here for a tuneup. She learned how to round pen, desensitization, yielding the hindquarters, and was introduced to back with driving pressure. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining#groundwork #foundationtraining #foryou #fyp
Third session with Tessa, the 9 year old Appendix mare. I introduced desensitization to the flag, reviewed backing to driving and steady pressure, and introduced flexing. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foundationtraining #groundwork #foryou #fyp
Tessa is one of the horses I travel to and work with on a session by session basis. She is a 9 year old Appendix mare that is hot natured, reactive, and the owner has described as “panicked and checked out” when they have attempted to round-pen her. This was my second time working with her and it had been several weeks since the first session. Although she started by racing around as fast as she could, she remembered what I showed her from the first session and began to slow down and “think” pretty quickly. By the end of the session, she was a much calmer horse and I will continue to work on building her confidence, so she learns how to relax more consistently. #foundationrefinedhorsemanship #horsetrainer #horsetraining #naturalhorsemanship #naturalhorsemanshiptraining #foundationtraining #groundwork #problemsolving #foryou #fyp
