City Zoo was founded Sept 1, 1974 as a Lease Dept near the rear of the old Eastgate Country Store in Walla Walla. In 1976 we moved to a small strip mall across from Albertsons in Walla Walla Eastgate. We built and moved to our current location in the summer of 1984. From 1974 til 2003 Joanne Laufer and Ron Matthews were business partners along with other family members. This was a wonderful partn

ership, lasting some 29 years until Joannes retirement in 2003. In 2003, CITY ZOO PETS, L.L.C. was formed by Ron and Elaine Matthews as sole owners was sold to David and Kelsey Newby in 2020, a Walla Walla born couple who grew up with City Zoo. We are one of the oldest and most successful Pet Supply Stores in the Pacific Northwest, thanks to our wonderful customer following.....which we are so thankful for. The Zoo has been with our community through a lot, and is happy to have donated to many, many community groups, taken in surrenders and rehomes of every species we care for in store, and a few we don't when we were the best or only option. we have worked with quite a few events and charities over the course of our many years in business. We plan to be the valley's go to pet store for many more years! Our service is based on knowledge and hiring enthusiasts with the best health of your pet in mind, and a passion for the animals we keep!

If anyone feels the need, we have roaches and critters available, not to mention plenty of rescues who could use a few bucks in support! Seriously though, I have cats I'd happily snip snip under your exes (or current partners, I won't judge) name, roaches to feed off, and I'd be willing to feed organs off to the critters that like raw if that's your jam! Make it a win for everyone 😉 I don't normally fund raise but this sounds hilarious and my spay/medical list is piling up 😅 if you have a request let me know!!

Ahead of Valentine's Day, a zoo in the US is offering people to get a revenge on their exes and vent their feelings in an unusual way. Continuing with its tradition, the Bronx Zoo is offering people a chance to name a cockroach after their ex-partner for $15. So with all the animals I foster I feel like I've failed these two, they are both almost a year old, spayed and have not found the confidence to meet an adopter. Booberry in the first two pictures is super sweet to her chosen person and is absolutely beautiful. These two were pulled in as older kittens from outside in the hopes they could socialize and be adopted, if you know torbies you know they can have interesting attitudes. Booberry socialised great but doesn't like meeting new people, she hides and has a slight panic attack, it takes about 3 days to get her to relax in a new environment. Third her sister rarely allows physical contact but she will sleep underneath me and steal my shoes 😅 They are both fully litterbox trained and super soft from being fed well. Every once in a while social media performs a miracle for me, this time I'm asking for a quiet home with some patience for these two girls, or even just booberry. They do not seem to like other female cats but accept younger males. If you know anyone who could use cuddles as much as they could use a home please share them 🤞💙 - Kelsey Newby
