Introducing our overnight pup: Gatsby 🧳🎉

This is Gatsby’s second stay with us, and he was so excited to see Juniper again. This crazy boy is such a delight to have as a guest and we are always so happy to see him.

If every Monday ended with cake we would be a Monday person 🤣

She would also like leftover cake on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and sundays 🤣

Speaking of cake, which is your favorite cake flavor?
I like going for a good old classic funfetti cake, and Juniper… well Punpkin and peanut butter with cream cheese frosting is hers 🎂

Happy 3rd birthday to my wild Juniper 🖤

I will never understand why anyone would have dumped such a wonderful pup, but I am so lucky they did and that took you on from their rescue partner. 💛

Life with you has been quite the wild adventure, you opened my world up to many possibilities, showed me what I am capable of, and healed my wounds after the loss of my beloved Ambrose & Archer.

Your compassion and patience for other dogs is amazing.

My greatest compliment is when those who meet you acknowledge your kind and gentle soul. 💖

3 years down, and here’s to another year of continuing your amazing life.

Raw food pronto so you can spend more time with your little adventure dog 😎

A few months ago I made the switch to putting Juniper on a full raw diet! I know the benefits of raw feeding and I want the best for my adventure buddy 🥲

On our weekend getaway feeding would have been much more stressful without freeze dried raw pronto! All the benefits of raw food in a quick freeze dried formula where all I had to do is add water to rehydrate. This makes camping/ glamping even more enjoyable knowing Junipers diet doesn’t have to suffer.

We had been lucky to be gifted this to try and it’s now a staple to keep on hand for emergencies ❕

Thank you primal for fueling our weekend getaway! We spent more time in the water.

A weekend away well deserved for us all.

Junipers first time paddle boarding and she loves it. She is also such a mamas girl 🤣 she loves Adela so much.

I am so glad juniper loves the water. A water loving dog is so important to us both and I got so lucky with this little texas rescue girl.

We were gifted this slow feeder to try from 😍

We have it in multiple colors and it’s absolutely perfect! The interactive slow feeder is part of their natural line of bowls and toys!

It’s made of plant-based materials 🌱 that are free from harmful toxins. Bpa and phthalates free.

I love the mountain and sun scene!

Best part is that I can fill her bowl up with her and freeze it to keep Juni busy.

We recently made the switch to a full raw diet. We are thrilled that offers delivery and carries bull boxes of Steve’s real raw 😍 their frozen patties make it so easy to portion. (Not an ad, we are just excited about the switch and to have an awesome small business close to us)

We have been soaking up the sun on patios this summer ☀️
City life has been nice but we are so ready for a weekend in nature.

We have a mini trip coming up of two nights in a cabin on a pond and I know Juniper and I are both in dire need of it.

Life is insane and I haven’t had moments to create, so I took out my phone to get these cute photos of me and my favorite girl 😭

Juniper has been struggling adjusting to the fact I no longer work from home. She isn’t alone for more than 3 hours since my partner works different hours than I do, but every day since I adopted her 2 years ago we spent together.

I won’t lie, I hardcore am also having a hard time adjusting to this as well 🥲

I get to spend time with a lot of different dogs at work, but there’s only one dog I want to be with 😭

Don’t let her size full you Zoe is 10 lbs of sass 💁🏻‍♀️

She can out play any adult cattle dog right now, and she means business when she tells you what to do.

Today is her first day of daycamp and she’s loving every second of it!

Camp counselor Juni is a great leader as she showcases other dogs the perfect body language and gently sets her boundaries with them.

We’ve had play sessions with each dog, potty break 🚽,a snack break , and now a little nap time 💤

Puppy socialisation is NOT just about playing with other dogs.

In fact, too much uncontrolled exposure to other dogs can cause so many unintended consequences.

If you have a puppy, make sure you try to work on ALL aspects of socialisation, as listed in the bottom graphic.

Tzavi came over for structured daycamp 🎾

She got to have supervised play sessions with both Juniper and my foster dog. A leash walk where we worked on our leash skills (she’s all full force pulling 🤣 I think her parent should do some grc dog sports with her because she would thrive in weight pulling 🏋🏻‍♀️), then the girls got to sniff around the trail.

Juniper had some off leash ball time and Tzavi was already pretty satisfied with the walk alone so she stayed pretty close to me.

Structured day camp is nice because I only take on 1-2 dogs at a time so it’s not entirely an overwhelming experience for the dogs.

Daycare can be a very overwhelming environment for almost every dog because they take on a lot of dogs at once with limited staffing.
They don’t usually include downtime which a dog needs to reset their minds. Constant stimulation is never a good thing.

Even though it’s been a few months since we’ve has Tzavi over for daycamp, her and Juni act like no time has passed.

She loves winter ❄️ but I love fall 🍂

Throw back to fall because I am missing it with all the cold weather we are having!

I am so prone to slipping on black ice and hurting myself so we don’t get out as much as we do in other seasons.
Juniper loves the snow though! She loves eating it, catching snow balls, running around in it, and even trying to swim in the ice cold river when it’s not frozen over 🤦🏻‍♀️

I love her enjoying those things about winter so of course I risk me falling on ice just for her.

Even though we have a foster, I still make sure to take juniper out in solo adventures. As a Velcro mamas girl it’s important for us to maintain our relationship and giving her one on one time💛

Plus our current foster does not like the snow 🤣

💛 gahhh I absolutely adore this little cattle dog 😭

Since Cy has been visiting they have been doing so well playing together and respecting each others boundaries. It makes me so happy to be able to have these moments with them.

Cy is great off leash which has helped me let Jun leash drag while out in the river.

As typical cattle dog fashion she does r enjoy sharing me all the time and side eyes Cy when she sits next to me on the couch, and she will go put herself in the room to snooze next to her kitty sister in the bed sulking.

I’ve been having to put one up for individual play time because they both like people play as much as they enjoy playing with each other.

Luckily my partner is coming over in a few days so Cy can get attention from her and Jun won’t feel so left out sometimes.

I am proud of how well she communicates her feelings now. I think fostering has really helped her learn to set boundaries with other dogs.

It’s been nice taking juniper out with my camera lately 😍 it’s been a hot minute since we have been out with it.

Most of the time I’ve been unmotivated just because I found it hard to grow her account and my editing is all over 😭

Then I remember that it’s mostly to document our memories together 💛

There’s no doubt that I would choose this dog over and over again over any other dog I meet.

Regardless of set backs. Regardless of her becoming over stimulated and nipping me out of frustration.

I would do all the hard moments all day and everyday if it meant that I will always have the bond that I do with my dog.

Fall time looks good on her 😍

If I could spend 6 months of crunchy golden leaves, romping around chasing squirrels with my dog, while she has a fall dip in the river, then life would be absolutely perfect 😍

There’s a lot of bliss when we do not have a client dog, or foster and it’s just Juniper and i on a one on one.

Though I don’t love all other seasons as much as I love fall, this little cattle dog love for all seasons has made me grown kinda fond of even winter time. I just love watching her pounce in the snow too 🥺

Tzavi and the flirt pole

Tzavi has been loving #evergreenheelersdaycamp days! It’s a fun filled time with lots of personal play, flirt pole, play with my resident Heeler, some decompression time in a crate with a stuffed kong, and some training on how to file her own nails by learning from Juniper the heeler.
