🐾UPDATES🐾 on our furry friends who used to be on this page: Caramel, Ribbon and Dexter! First, a BIG thank you for all your continued support of them and of our currently featured dog, Wally. ❤️
Caramel: Caramel still waits for her forever home. She did great with her training and her rescue is trying to find the perfect match for her. She also continues to receive maintenance training to keep her on track. She is 7 years old now. If you know of someone who'd like to apply for Caramel, please contact PAWS Long Island- Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society or Jet's Rehab Rescue, Inc.
Ribbon: Ribbon still waits for his forever home. He was pulled by My Why Rescue . He has been in a train and board program ever since with Dila K9 Training Academy .
Ribbon would do best in a calm home. He is estimated to be 7 years young, he is not much of a cuddler but will sit for pets. Once he’s finished getting what he needs, he just wants to lay down on his own and not be bothered. He travels well in the car. He’s dog friendly but we would love for him to be in a home with an older dog or no dogs due to him not having the 1:1 attention on him. Dexter: Unfortunately, Dexter is back at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter where he began. Dexter had been pulled by a rescue, but none of the foster homes worked out for Dexter, so he was returned to the shelter. He did receive some training during his journey away from the shelter, so that was good for him. If you are interested in meeting Dexter, please email the shelter at [email protected]

but with all the thunderstorms we’ve been having it’s hard to get a good photo shoot in.

Here Ribbon and hooman are stretching their legs and paws on their way down to Florida. Many have asked if he’s up for adoption. Currently he is not, Ribbon will be going through training but before he begins his training he’ll need some time to decompress. How much time? We aren’t sure- we aren’t rushing him and want to go at his pace.

During his training, we along with will be posting his progress and all updates. Once we feel he is ready to be adopted we will post the kind of family he needs. There is nothing more than to see him and all of our dogs in a loving and safe environment.

We rescue frequently from the meat trade and it’s just heartbreaking to see his past. Onto a much brighter future. Please continue to repost and share.
