When I tell people I love my pets I mean it. I will spend any amount of money to help my babies. Here we sit knowing this visit will cost at minimum $205 and all I hope is they can give my girl Charlotte some relief. I did all I could for her before coming to this. Please pray they can retrieve the egg

The not so glamorous part of chicken keeping. This hen can’t pass her egg. It’s been stuck for at least 3 days. I’ve been soaking her twice a day, giving calcium and lubricating her vent. Anyone have any ideas before I lose this girl???

As I look back on 2024 I am full of gratitude for how far my breeding program has come and I owe it to all of you. Sometimes they just need a little help. I like to get their head free and allow them to push out the rest of the way. These bone heads have a hard time hatching. I candle 2x a day when in lockdown. I watch for internal pips and external pips. If a chick doesn’t make progress I will slowly chip the shell away. If no blood vessel are visible I will free their heads so they don’t get stuck
