ATTENTION:

Our X-Ray hard drive crashed this evening and we are unable to get a new one until Tuesday.

You may be asking yourself, what does this mean for me should I need to bring my pet in?

The short answer is we will be unable to take radiographs (x-rays) of your pets until Tuesday. But, we do have other means at our disposal to try and give you a full diagnosis or as close to one as we can.

Should you need assistance or have questions, as always, we are available 24/7 on the weekends.

We are sorry for inconvenience this may cause. We are working diligently to correct the issue.

Did you know that today is National Chocolate Covered Anything Day?!?

While chocolate does sound very tasty, your furry friends should avoid indulging in any type of chocolate covered anything. Otherwise, you may end up needing to visit us and speaking with our friends at the poison hotline.

Did you know that on average, every year in the U.S. 800 million cupcakes are consumed!

Eating cupcakes is not entirely safe and could potentially be harmful to our furry friends. Your dog may not experience problems after consuming one small, plain cupcake every once in a while, but these sweet treats typically contain various ingredients that can lead to health issues.

It’s that time of year where sickness is going around and our staff here at MGVEC has been no exception to this.

For the last two weeks we have been battling two separate illnesses.

With that being said, we are remaining open but are short staffed.

What does this mean for our clients and your fur babies?

Our lobby may close slightly earlier than 2am but that does not mean we will not see your pet, it just means that we will not have a receptionist up front and for the safety of the staff will keep our doors locked and we will ask that you call when you arrive. Depending on how busy they are or the types of cases they have the staff may ask you to wait in your car or in a room if there is one available.

**We will always allow and strongly encourage owners to be with their babies if you’re coming in for an end of life visit.**

We will remain open. Wait times may be longer than usual for non life threatening illnesses/injuries. Rest assured we will still see your fur babies but if your pet is assessed and deemed stable, you may experience a bit of a longer wait than normal as we will prioritize our most critical first as we have always done.

Please be patient with us. We are trying. We are human. Unfortunately we get sick too. The staff that are working, are trying their best.

As a reminder, we DO NOT condone profanity or verbal abuse of any kind towards our staff under any circumstances.

We will be fielding phone calls today starting at noon. If your pet is critical or it is deemed that they are unable to wait until we have a full staff here, we will have a small number of staff available on premises to treat your pet. If your pet is not critical, we will open fully (with a full number of staff) at 6pm and will ask you to wait until then to be seen. if you are unsure if your pet should wait or not, give us a call at 478-997-6677 and one of your staff members will be able to assist you.
