Love these chunky chocolates so damn much. They are 8 weeks this week some are going off to there new homes some are still in search of homes. But I’m a bit teary tonight thinking of how much I will miss them. There new family’s are beyond lucky and will know how much love and work I have put into them once they get them home and see how truly amazing they are . I put a little bit of my soul in each and every puppy that’s produced by my dogs. It’s a labor of love and passion

Something to think about BEFORE you tell someone what their puppies are worth.
I AM A BREEDER...
Food receipts for my dogs food bills are more than my own.
I have more whelping supplies than I do medicine and first aid supplies.
I have vaccines in my fridge, ringers on hand, my vet on speed dial.
I am a breeder, who when bad weather strikes, save the dogs/puppies before taking cover myself. My feet find the way to the puppy pens before I have even eaten breakfast in the morning and the puppy pens are my last stop before bed.
Personal plans revolve around delivering or hand feeding puppies. They are made around heat dates, whelp dates, puppies going to their new homes and vet dates.
I am a breeder, who has been covered in more bodily fluids from my dogs on more occasions than I care to admit.
Most of the time my conversations with friends revolves around my dogs.
When I get exhausted and feel like I can't do another sleepless night hand feeding a puppy around the clock every 2 hours I remind myself religiously that the hand feeding is only temporary and the reward is coming.
I am a breeder who sacrifices my own sanity and rest to wake up every hour to check on a dam in labor, or soon to be.
Many people wouldn't understand how it feels to have invested hours upon hours into a weak puppy to ultimately lose it and how it can feel the same as losing a loved one or the joy I feel when all the invested hours have paid off in one that lives.
I am a breeder, who would bottle feed, syringe feed and even sponge feed a puppy, doing whatever it takes feeding every 2 hours and it taking 45 minutes to do it for weeks at a time to ensure it's survival.
I have learned to be proficient at vaccinations, sub- q fluids, syringe feeding, , temperature taking and formulated.
Working out natural, well working, remedies to just about every puppy issue , like canned pumpkin for constipation or loose p**p's.
My Vet knows me by my first name, and has witnessed me cry countless times.
I am a breeder, to me that 63 days takes on new meaning still excited by every new life. It is I who delivers all my pups, towels and heating pads on ready, happiness and sadness sometimes intermingled.
It is I who has breathed the first breath of life into a puppy who has refused to take that first breath. Even though it increases my work load, I look forward to the 14 day stage when eyes open, and puppies begin to emerge from the helplessness of newborns. Puppy breath, a first bark, and a heart of exploration. I am a conscientious lover of animals and I have found my niche.
I am a breeder, and I am not cruel, dumb, uncaring or criminal. I take great responsibility for every life I bring into this world and ensure it goes to a wonderful, loving and perfect home. An extension of the same love and care they received while in my own home.
I am not raking in money while sitting on my butt. Every penny I make I earn through blood, sweat, hard work and tears. My greatest joy is a healthy puppy going to a wonderful home.
The cards of thanks, gifts from clients and the pictures of my puppies with their new families are the fringe benefits of my efforts.
I am an animal lover, nurse, midwife, heavy laborer, customer service representative and marketer and PROUDLY I AM A BREEDER!

💙 all the pups ive spent sleepless nights hamd feeding and keeping warm to make sure theu had the best chance at an amazing life.. i wouldnt trade thoes exsausted duas for anything

Potty training has begun! I potty box train every litter starting at 3 weeks with a pan with a few alfalfa pellets in it, sprayed with dirt scent spray. The scent recognition process helps the pups easily transition to going potty outside when they are old enough. At 3 weeks the pups are very eat sleep p**p with very little playing. We split there pen in half one half has the pan with the pellets and the other half is for sleeping/ eating. When the puppies wake up they only take a few steps and generally then take a potty, so while they are learning that’s the area they go potty it needs to be very close to the sleeping area. Over the next two weeks I will expand the area each week a little more and a little more until they have a large play area a sleeping area and a potty area. I have done this method now for quite a few years with amazing success. Stay tuned as these pups grow and learn !!!

I’m two days late but happy belated first birthday to Iyah and motos litter!! I have had the pleasure of being so direct in the upbringing of all but one of these beauties and I couldn’t be more blessed. They are all turning into amazing dogs.
Fenn- living the good life in the country with my favorite pottery lady!

Shepherd - living with his half brother and another shepherd with the best family I could ask for. He’s at the moment here with me for a little basic obedience.

Helo- lives here with me obviously having an amazing life being the sweet calm adorable boy he is.

Wheeler- living with one of my closest friends who also has one of his half sisters. He is the best dog to his little girl. He’s with us for day care multiple times a week.

Cooper- living the best country life not to far from here his owners report that he’s absolutely amazing.

Pepper - Pepper chino!! She’s living her best life with her two dog siblings and her amazing family. She is so sassy and sweet. She is also with us multiple times a week for day care.

Beth - the infamous beth … are there really words for this dog ? She is wild she is her own person, she is my best pal even tho she gives me a head ache daily I love her wild soul to my core. She is so affectionate and bossy all in the same body. She fears basically nothing (besides the vet)

“Don’t Buy A Dog From Me” 🐾❤️

*What reputable breeders want you to know*

If you want to buy a dog and walk away, don’t buy one from me.

If you want to pick a puppy because it came to you when you sat down or gave you a cute look, don’t buy one from me.

If you don’t want to take my recommendations on what food to feed or what is best for the health and well being of the dog, after years of experience, don’t buy a dog from me.

If you just want a puppy NOW, because you need it for a Christmas gift or to be in Senior Pictures, don’t buy one from me.

If you never plan to update me on how the dog is doing or send a picture once in a while, don’t buy a dog from me.

If you want a dog to live in the backyard, run loose on a farm and never share time in the house with your family, definitely don’t buy a dog from me.

If you want a lawn ornament, you can buy one made of cement or plaster, not much care needed.

However, if you want a puppy that has parents with health testing, that was socialized, loved and made a priority from the day it was born.

A puppy whose temperament and activity level has been carefully chosen to fit your lifestyle.

A puppy selectively and purposefully bred to the standard set forth by our breed club, then maybe you do want to buy a dog from me.

If you want a breeder who will at anytime in the dog’s life take them back, no questions asked.

A breeder who is there 24/7 for you and your dog for questions and concerns and will work hard to help you resolve any issues.

Then you might want to buy a dog from me.

If you want a breeder who loves each puppy/dog with all her heart, considers you part of the family and will laugh or cry with you at any time. Well then we might be a match.

Reputable breeders should never be lumped in with puppy mills, backyard breeders or those who broker dogs. A reputable breeder will be able to provide clearances, a five generation pedigree, an explanation as to why they bred the two dogs. While most of the time they will make little or no money. What money they might get is reinvested into the dogs one way or another.
A reputable breeder knows their dogs, and can realistically tell you what to expect and when. They can guide you toward veterinarians, training facilities and products that will benefit your dog.

A reputable breeder will be your friend, a guiding hand and a strong shoulder. So whatever choice you make, make it with the best interest of the dog in mind and if that’s not your plan….. then don’t buy a dog from me.

NEW PUPPY OWNERS…….saw this and thought appropriate to share
As puppies head to their new homes I wanted to touch base on a common issue that breeders come across with new owners.
Realistic Expectations
You see the breeders pictures and videos and The pups are all social. They are quiet in the pen. The breeder shows you videos of them being totally relaxed, happy, playful. All looks amazing and you bring your puppy home.
Then reality hits. The puppy may cry in the crate for the first few nights making you tired and agitated. The happy social puppy is refusing to greet the half dozen overly excited friends you invited over to see your new puppy. Or the overly excited playful children you have at home. The puppy refuses to walk on a leash. Many are wondering how did my perfect puppy turn into a nightmare.
So let’s discuss realistic expectations of when a puppy goes home. First of all the puppy has been in the breeders home since birth. They had their mother and often littermates. They had their routine, were taught expectations and were completely in their comfort zone.
Now suddenly they are taken to a totally new environment. Picture yourself being dropped into an unknown country, often in a different part of the world. You know only a few words of their language. Different trees, animals, smells, temperature and people. Now in the middle of this we are switching up your routine, decide to have a party with people you don't know, and ask you to do jobs you have no idea about. Overwhelming to say the least.
This is what every puppy goes through when going to their new home. Stress manifests in different forms. From not eating, reluctancy to play and greet people. Being apprehensive at the vet’s office or as strangers reach for them. Diarrhea, vomiting and depression can occur.
So what can you as a new owner do to help your little one acclimate?
- most puppies take 3-4 weeks to acclimate to their new home. Repeat after me THREE to FOUR WEEKS sometimes even Longer! Not a 1-2 days. I can’t stress this enough about how much time is needed for a dog or puppy to feel comfortable in their new home!
- limit guests during the first week. We understand you are excited to show off your new baby but they need time to adjust. Plan on waiting 1-2 weeks before inviting people over
- ask guest to sit on the ground and let the puppy approach them. No squealing and grabbing the puppy
- set up a good routine
- restrict the puppy to a small area of the house. This not only reduces them being overwhelmed but also allows you to watch them
- don’t expect a 8-13 week old puppy to walk on a leash. Instead work at home with a leash where they are comfortable. Let them drag the leash, use treats to encourage them to walk with you
- if your puppy is refusing to walk give them time. My first trips to town with puppies a walk around a small block took 1 1/2 hours. We only move when they initiate the movement as they need time to take in the different environment
- understand your puppy needs time to see you as family. Expecting an immediate bond is unrealistic
- train your puppy. This not only helps you to bond but the puppy to look to you for direction and input
-Children are also big stressors to tiny fragile puppies, please keep an eye on puppy at all times when around children.
- lastly be patient. Don’t declare “omg there’s something wrong with this dog”. Nothing occurs overnight. Outings should be planned at puppy speed. So while you might imagine a fun walk around the lake in reality your puppy might only be able to handle walking a short distance that day.
Most outings for me take a long time, as I am often just standing still as the puppy cautiously explores the new environment. Patience is key!
Remember if the puppy was wonderful at the breeder’s house but now is struggling, you as the owner, need to help the puppy adjust which takes time, patience and training. Have realistic expectations and give the puppy positive experiences. Each puppy is an individual, don’t compare your current puppy to past pets and judge their behavior based on how another dog handled things. Lastly, try to see thing’s from a puppy’s perspective and adjust situations accordingly.
