Did you know:

If you have a pacemaker, you can put it in your Will to have your pacemaker donated to a dog in need after you pass. Pacemakers cannot be donated to another human, but they can be donated to dogs with cardiac issues who would depend on it to stay alive.

You can have the pacemaker brought to a vet of your choice. So many of those get thrown away and dogs die because people don't know they can do this. It even saves the dog's owner the cost of the actual pacemaker which sometimes means the difference in being able to afford lifesaving treatment or not.

Do not get a Boston Terrier if:

You don't want a best friend for life.

You don't want to laugh every day.

You don't want to go to sleep to the sound of freight train snoring.

You don't want everyone you meet to greet your dog before you.

You don't want unconditional love and kisses.

You don't want to get hot-boxed in every room of the house at any time by farts.

You don't want a dog that everyone compliments as so cute and precious.

You don't want a dog that loves people of all ages, shapes, and sizes.

You don't want a dog that pouts when you leave and is the first at the door with wiggy butts when you get home.

You don't like snuggles and random toys appearing in your lap out of thin air for throwing.

You don't like sharing your food or having a dog stare at you drooling for a bite.

You don't enjoy having a dog up your butt and glued to you 24/7.

You don't want to know what it is to be truly loved by a dog.

Then a Boston Terrier is not for you 💕

It is legit now, Peanut has been officially adopted and her new name is fitfully going to be, Buddha. She's very happy in her home, bonded tightly to the male of the house, Sgt. Green, who is also a rescue from here before we had a Fb page.

I will be puppy sitting miss Buddha regularly, so expect more pics as time goes by. :)

Her custom name tag has her name on one side and a custom design, as well as the medical symbol, "microchip", "deaf" and her people's number on the other side. :)

This is Jelli Bean's "forever home name tag". I wanted to share. It's a custom pattern just for her, to reflect how she loves to sing the song of her people whenever she's disgruntled. ;)

We go through a lot of name tags around here, they tend to work through about every 6 months. This design makes sure the tag will last an entire lifetime of a dog and be a lasting keepsake some day when they cross the Rainbow Bridge.

On the back is my number, "microchip", and "deaf".

I will post a link in the comments for anyone wanting to know where to get their own, whether with one of the many patterns they have, or a custom design yourself. :)

Pandora (Cocoa Chanel) is visiting for a few days as her brother is back from the vet and needs time to heal. She's made herself right at home again, right in the middle of the cuddle puddle puppy pile. :)

How do you know you're making progress with a dog? Here is Peanut, laying on the dog bed less than 6 inches from my computer chair. She usually likes to get on my bed across the room and sleep on her row of pillows near the wall, those are her "safe space". But not today...today she decided she wanted to lay on the bed right beside Mooshu Piggy (one of my parents', and a rescue before the page was made here, red collar), to be near me. I stood up, Peanut didn't notice. I took a picture, she didn't notice. It wasn't until I went to walk out of the room right past her and she woke up. She was THAT comfortable.

This is what massive progress looks like: a happy boston who is losing the last vestiges of fear and getting very comfortable around people.

Today began super early with cajoling Juju out of bed from under the covers with my mother, where she has been spending the night the last few nights. She didn't want to get up, she wanted to stay there and snuggle and give kisses. I think she knew when I packed her bag again with her favorite things, despite her attempts to unpack the bag repeatedly.

I recently lost a rescue dog I had shared with someone else for years, then shared joint custody with, but hadn't seen for several months; Potato passed of old age, a much loved, much spoiled girl. It broke my heart to lose her, she was my first rescue. Then about a week later, I lost one of the stray kitties who I had just taken to be neutered, was hoping to bring him inside soon. This brought on a lot of grief, and in my mourning, Juju became more possessive of me, more protective, and so did Jelli Bean. They began to snip, then to fight, then to all out attack each other. I decided that the best thing for Juju was to send her to a better qualified rescue where she could get her cherry eye fixed and they could get her into a better home without an incredibly jealous frenchton.

Today on National Boston Terrier Day, Juju went to Mid America Boston Terrier Rescue, and began her journey north with another boston on their way to find new homes. She will be in foster care, never in a shelter, always in a home. She will find the home she deserves through them.

I wish I could have been the one to find her that home, but right now I can not deal with juggling two dogs who had become more and more offensive to each other. No dog deserves to live in a home where they feel they have to fight. I wish I could have gotten her cherry eye fixed too, but I do this out of pocket. With them she will get the professional care she deserves and a home she deserves, with a much softer place to stay until then.

I love you, Juju Bean, and I miss you terribly already. I hope you find the best home there is for you, where you have another dog you love to snuggle, and someone to let you sleep in the bed with them under the covers.

My name is Juju, but my foster momma calls me "Gremlin" a lot of the time...something about my furrowed brow and the little floppy tips on my ears?

I am looking for a forever home as soon as possible because the other puppies don't like me here. I get along great with other dogs now and I really don't like confrontation.

A lot of people keep inquiring and then turning away because I'm a little older, I'm only 5-7, and I still think I am a puppy! I love to play fetch, snuggle, watch tv, sleep in the bed, and oh my DOG do I have a passion for squeakers!

I am ready for a forever home, someone please love me and keep me? I'll be your bestest good girl Valentine...just give me a warm bed and a lap and I'm yours forever!
