Our mission at Good Dog Workshop is to make a positive difference in the lives of dogs and dog owners, primarily through in-home, one-on-one training sessions, and to educate the public and dog rescue volunteers on responsible dog ownership through instruction on the natural approach to working with dogs. Our goal is to foster a relationship between animal and human that is based on trust and resp

ect. We’ll teach you to better communicate with your dog and give you the knowledge and the confidence to work with your dog‘s nature, not against it. Essentially, we'll teach you how to ‘Speak Dog’. Nearly all unwanted dog behavior comes from instability caused by unfulfilled needs in a dog's life—such as inadequate exercise, lack of structure, no discipline, weak leadership and inconsistent training. Good Dog Workshop will show you that providing your dog with proper LEADERSHIP and EXERCISE will satisfy his instinctive, natural needs which is the foundation to developing a strong bond of trust and respect with your dog.

Meet our new foster, Marigold! 🏵🌼
Are you looking for that perfect velcro dog? Check out Marigold a 55lb German Shepherd from Lost Ball Canine Rescue. She is a sweet, affectionate low-key GSD who always prefers to be right next to her person! She loves to get her ears and neck scratched, or she’ll just climb up on her favorite seated person and drape herself overtop for a cuddly nap.

She’s a great watch dog with a BIG alert bark, but she is friendly and curious with everyone she meets.

Marigold has settled in nicely with her new foster brother and sisters: a beagle, a Lab and a cattle dog! She walks well on-leash and enjoys her long walks morning and evening and takes her cues from them on the best places to stop and sniff.

She’s quiet at night. Rides well in the car. Potty trained, crate trained. There are some things about indoor life that Marigold just is not sure about yet (like basement stairs.... eek!) She will need a patient, loving owner who will continue building her confidence in this new environments.

Another dog match success! Our friend, Anna Russau, has been fostering Tiger for a long time through Mid-Atlantic Jack Rescue. When she came to him, he had a broken pelvis, and she raised money for his medical bills and nursed him back to health. When he was healthy, she brought him to a few socialization events and training sessions.

Jennifer called our trainer, Marina, looking for a new best friend to shine some light in her new home. Marina immediately thought of Tiger and arranged for them to meet through our Dog Match Program.
