We seriously slacked in the photo department but we FINALLY got to get out and horse show after many canceled shows this winter. For a first outing since the end of October, the horses and riders were great!
🔘Chrissy Clark rode her “Wyatt’s Joy” to 4th, 6th and 5th in a large Schooling Hunter division. They later came back and put in smooth, consistent rounds in the Child/Adult.
🔘Kasey Cadle rode Strider Christian’s “Comedy” to top placings in Schooling Hunter, Child/Adult Hunter, and a 3rd in the Child/Adult Equitation.
🔘Peyton McDonald joined the MSF team a few short months ago and attended her first show with us. Welcome to the team, Peyton!
Always a great time showing at The Barracks Horse Shows. Quality courses, footing, and competition as well as great turn out numbers for a local series!

👀👀 Looking for a 1.10+ Jumper for a confident amateur that recently transitioned to the jumper world 2 years ago after riding hunters her whole life. Green but sensible ok. Forever home type situation after unexpectedly retiring her previous mount. Regular lessons and rated show quality currently showing in the 1.0m. Reasonable maintenance no issue. Now for the hard part, budget of $35k. Please send me any and everything that could work🦄

For Partial Lease in Warrenton, Virginia
“Comedy”
2018 warmblood gelding 17.3
The sweetest gentle giant is looking for the perfect situation in a partial lease. Coolio has been showing in the 2’6 Low Children’s at local and rated shows and various 3’ divisions with a professional since purchase in March 2024. Trailer to ring. Always jumps. Beautiful mover. Flat jump for his size. Due to his size and age, please no beginners.
Very reasonable on farm lease with showing opportunities. Must lesson at least once a week with MSF Equestrians. No outside trainers. 2-3 rides per week.

Huge congratulations to the McDonald family on their purchase of the sweetest boy, Emmett. We searched high and low for hour and hours with many failed attempts only to find the most perfect unicorn for Peyton! Can’t wait to get them out to shows together soon 🦄💕

Mary Ficklin was born in the true horse country of Fauquier County, Virginia. Growing up in Delaplane, Mary's love for horses started at a very young age. At age 5, she began her love for riding at Madcap Farm. Very soon weekly lessons turned into leasing ponies and everyday trips to the barn. Around age 10, Mary started showing on the local VHSA hunter/jumper circuit and eventually broadening into the A circuit hunters.
In 2008, Mary bought her first investment horse, Sebastian. Sebastian was one of a kind and ended up not being for sale as planned. Mary competed Sebastian and many other horses very successfully in the local and A rated Children's hunters, Medals, and Equitation as a junior rider. She has many year end awards including high point rider, high point trainer, and several high point division awards. Since 2014, Mary is an Equine Veterinary Technician at the Piedmont Equine Practice in The Plains, Virginia.
Mary has years of experience teaching and showing from local to rated and all levels in between. Mary's patience and attention to detail pairs her well with problem horses. She has a lot of experience restarting thoroughbreds off the track for a new career and helping to better difficult horses. Mary's main focus while teaching is a lot on equitation and proper rider mechanics while making the horse and rider come together as a team. Along with that, and just as important, is teaching the true meaning of horsemanship and care for the animals. All of her students are taught very early on that the horses and ponies come first.
