Pony Finals was a whirlwind of fun!
Connie looked amazing, from braids to dapples to hoof oil and a scrim that stayed on during a 1 1/2 mile 5 minute run on foot… ALL 3 of US! Thank the Lord for the model clinic! She was 24 out of 90. They both could not have looked better!
Katherine and Connie did their absolute best in the flat class in spite of two Ponies, who got their riders off and went running around the ring for five minutes. It was terrifying and yet Connie never moved! Trainers running,kids on the ground, people standing around the ring with arms linked preventing one of the ponies from jumping out. Teamwork! The ponies were caught, the kids walked out of the ring. Fortunately that was the last direction of the canter and all ponies had scores. They placed 52 out of 88.
Katherine rode through her nerves into the ring for her over fences class. Connie went right to business and acted like a regular division pony. They placed 33 out of 88.
It was a great learning and training experience. I got to see old friends from my previous life and neighbors from Virginia. I hope everyone knows that I was not making fun of the kids falling and ponies running, just illustrating how great Connie was. Thank you Cantilena’s for the great experience!
