An update on Jacquie - and a request for help.
For those of you who have adopted, fostered, or (sadly) had to rehome any of the thousands of doodles who have been rescued by the Doodle Rescue Collective, you know Jacquie York. She has our endless gratitude for her years of saving doodles - some just in need of a new home, others from horrible living conditions, and still others in need of months of patience and hard work while they learned to live with humans or other animals.
As many of your know, Jacquie was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Having lost her job during Covid, she has been unable to work. Her condition has worsened to a point where daily living is a challenge - walking, talking, thinking have all been impaired. We are hoping that you will be willing, NOW to help this woman who has spent years of her life dedicated to helping others.
After two years of fighting for disability benefits, a judge finally has ruled in her favor. But benefits don't start until October. That's 4 more months of no income and very little help for a woman who does not live in a handicap accessible home and who has no income.
We've shared the GoFundMe page before. It has been updated. We hope you'll generously support Jacquie, She truly is a Doodle Hero.
