Part 3: Tucker’s road to recovery ❤️🩹
He was fighting to stay with us and we were going to keep fighting for him 🙏
This day and this song had so many things tied to it that day. It was one of the hardest days on my life, but I had to step aside for a little bit, focus on the dogs I had with me, and try to just be in the weird but beautiful moment that I was in, while I waited to hear if my heart would be broken.
The frozen over beach was such an unusual sight to behold, I will never forget it. And thankfully, there is a happy ending to the story. But at the time of this video, I was trying to find joy in this moment, even when my heart was breaking.

We went to visit Tucker again last night.
He was starting to act more like the Tucker we know and love
Asking for butt scratches and chest rubs 🥹
He drank water with us and has been eating with the staff.
He was upset about us leaving but I told him we will see him soon he’s just gotta keep fighting. 🙏
Tucker made it through the night!

He has a heart arrhythmia, but the surgeon. Told us this isn’t uncommon for a splenectomy.
We went to visit him a few hours ago and he was able to walk out to see us! He was so happy and wagging his tail to see us and every time we talked to him.
He wasn’t eating for the staff today, but when I was with him I asked him if he wanted to eat and he ate a bunch from and even wanted to eat more. I had to stop feeding him so he wouldn’t eat too much! 🥹🙏
The nurse that took care of him all day yesterday told us that she brought his lucky lambchop with him everywhere and he’s been beating the odds stacked against him.
Tucker is such a strong boy and such a fighter. He’s giving me his all to stay with me and we will do everything and anything we can for our sweet boy🙏
Today has been one of the hardest days of my life.
Tucker woke up lethargic and pale laying in his own vomit. We rushed him to an ER first thing this morning, and they spent all day getting him stable (we’re out of town) while we have spent the entire day praying for him to pull through.
He went into emergency surgery around 6:30PM to have the mass and his spleen removed, it had ruptured which caused him to vomit.
At 9pm Tuck made it through surgery. 🙏
He’s not out of the woods yet, but they were able to take the mass and spleen out and they didn’t find any extra nodules.
He had low blood pressure so they did a blood transfusion.
We won’t know the results of the mass until about a week.
If the mass is malignant his prognosis is 3 months or so, but if it’s benign it’s curative.
God answered our prayers that the surgery was successful but keep praying for him to be strong and pull through recovery over these next few days while he stays at the ER (we have a hotel close by) and pray that he will be able to come home. 🙏
