WWAS Pets This is an independent community page that aids WWAS residents to find adopters through social media. These funds provide for the operation of the shelter only.

WWAS is a rural shelter located about 40 miles east of Athens. We specialize in both cat and dog adoptions and occasionally small animal adoptions. We only accept owner surrenders and/or strays from Wilkes County residents. The shelter is funded by the City of Washington and Wilkes County. The Washington Wilkes Humane Association (WWHSA) was created to help with expenses ( medical surgeries, spay

, neuter, vaccinations, etc.) not covered by the City/County funding. The WWHSA is a 501(c)3 and all donations are tax deducible.

FIND A HOME FRIDAY!!!
Lucy was so excited to see Santa! She had a lot to tell him about how she has been a good girl and feels she is on the Nice list❤
This 5 month old mixed breed is definitely ready for her own family and would do well with children. She is very sweet, affectionate, good with other dogs, loves to play, up to date with vaccinations and we will spay and chip her. Come by and meet this cutie!!

Hank was such a good boy during his Santa visit. He is a 1-2 year old American Bulldog, up to date with vaccinations and heartworm negative. He is so friendly and playful, great with kids and other dogs, does well on a leash and rides well in the car. Still time for him to find a forever home before Christmas.

Bullet #2 had a nice visit with Santa. His list was short--a family who will love him❤ He is a 9 month old Feist mix, only weighs 26 lbs., is current with his vaccinations and heartworm negative. Sweet, sweet boy who is good with other dogs and kids.
