Hello all animal lovers! We, at Pampered Pets, a Doggy Day Spa, wanted to post to address the canine respiratory flu that's been going around, and that we are still hearing some worries about. We all have pets of our own and understand your concerns. We have spoken with our attached veterinarian, Aspetuck Animal Hospital, to get some accurate information. According to the veterinarians at this location, they have yet to see any confirmed cases of this current flu. Even with this information we are still taking extra precautions. This disease is spread by saliva droplets so we are making sure to have no contact between unrelated animals, and to disinfect our crates, tools, tables, and tub after every bath and groom. At this time we ask that if your pet has any signs of respiratory illness you kindly inform us and reschedule your appointment. Animals will not be admitted for any grooming services should they present with symptoms, and will be immediately quarantined and dismissed from the salon should symptoms present during the grooming process. We would like you to rest assured that we are doing everything possible to keep your furry best friends safe. Please call your local veterinarian if you would like more information about the virus. Thank you for reading and have a Happy 2024! πΎπ
Talking about the respiratory virus that is going around can be scary, but here are some FAQ. Please call/email us if you have any others!
We will refuse boarding to any dog that has these symptoms and if a dog develops these symptoms while boarding with us, we will recommend that pet be picked up from our facility. If that is not possible, we will treat and will isolate to the best of our ability. This may come with additional cost but the welfare of all our boarding and hospitalized animals is critically important.
