Don't forget that Jasmine offers farm animal care as well as domestics (cats and dogs!)
With a degree in large animal science and experience with goats, chickens, sheep, pigs, horses/ponies/donkeys, llamas/alpacas, and cows- all of your livestock will be well cared for when you hire Jasmine.

When you take your dog to a daycare or a traditional boarding facility:
🐾They are one of a dozen(or more) so they may only get at most an hour a day of pure attention from the staff. They are often over stimulated by the other dogs who are also seeking more attention then they're being given
🐾You spend all the effort of gas and time to drop them off and pick them up
🐾They run the risk of injury, communicable disease, food contamination, and more

These facilities can keep their costs to owners low, but have high disclaimers of risk. And since they can(and do!) have 10-20 clients at a time, your dog is only getting at most an hour or so of quality attention. And we also did some great loose leash walking. Your dog being calm and hanging out, whether walking or resting, is essential to your furry friends being able to go with you to all the dog friendly places. A loose, flat leash(no retractable leashes!) and an 'attentive to my handler' attitude will help your dog be the 'goodest' canine citizen he/ she can be.

It's a beautiful fall day for a stroll in the park. And a great day to practice DOWN while the kiddos run amok.
Practicing DOWN and PLACE in new and exciting places helps to desensitize and "bomb proof" your dog. It helps them be calm and settle anywhere they go- no matter if there's screaming kids, people on bikes, or a 5k going on around them.
If you practice at your local park or even during in your front steps, you're one step closer to having a well behaved dog sitting with you at the Cafe or winery.

As I finish up a busy little weekend here at The Farm, I wanted to announce tentative dates for my maternity leave.
June 19- August 24
Anything can happen in the next 7 weeks leading up to baby's arrival but I am crossing my fingers that baby stays on schedule and these dates don't need to be extended or changed. Meet Kelce! February's BOARD&TRAIN student
This guy has a thing against bikes 😬🚲
So here we are working him through it. Taking him for a walk on a familiar, low stress route and adding ONE distraction at a time.
Some days it's adding another dog🐕, some days it's adding a rolling garbage can🗑, and some days it's a kid on a bike🚲. These are all things that Kelce will encounter in his every day routine back at home in the townhouse complex, we're just breaking it down into small experiences so he's not over-stimulated and can learn to ignore things in a controlled setting. He's definitely not going to stroll down main street unfazed today, but that's the ultimate goal!

This is Natty. She just spent the week boarding with us at the farm. Natty is a class act- loves people, is child friendly, is other dog friendly. She's just a sweet as pie little (getting old) lady. She's about 13 but still a little spunky! Natty's owner is going through a lifestyle change, and worrying that Natty is depressed having less human and other dog interaction(they lost their other dog and owner back to working in person ALOT). If anyone is interested in adopting this sweetheart, please let me know.
