HRT K9

HRT K9 Harts' Recovery Team is a nonprofit providing service dogs to Veterans free of charge. Recovery is something that is very important to our family.

Justin is in recovery from PTSD. Being paired with his service dog Lexie changed his life and our family. Providing the same opportunity to other veterans walking that same path is part of maintaining his recovery. We believe that creating a team of one human and one rescue dog walking the road of recovery together offers both the dog and the veteran a better chance of success. It also invites them in to a community of recovery minded people doing life together.

Happy 2025! HRT K9 is excited to announce we have outgrown our space! We're starting out the new year fundraising and drafting plans for an exterior training space on the back of our property as well as fencing the yard. Not only will this dramatically increase our training space, it will give us the capability to invite members of our Veteran community to become part of the training process. We are so excited for this opportunity!
We have begun fundraising in earnest towards this project.

We would like to thank Brown's Electric of Anchorage for their generous donation towards this project.

It's a GREAT start but we still have a long ways to go.

If you've been wanting to check out Celebrate Recovery, tomorrow is a great low-pressure opportunity to do so. In place of our regular meeting, we'll be building and decorating gingerbread houses. Everything is supplied, you don't need to bring anything but yourself.

Reminder: Celebrate Recovery is for ANYONE who has stuff in their life they want to heal from or change. It is not just about substance issues.
