Contrary to what you may think I did not get him from the breeder with a perfect focused heel. I actually didnโt even work on his focused heel until he was about a year old. I regret not starting sooner but Iโm so happy with the progress we have made in the last 8 months. We where able to get on the trial field and get out BH-VT together. December of 2022 I really started working on his heeling and here are some tips I have for you. ๐ฉYour heel command is not an action itโs a position so if your dog cannot get into a focused heel stationary donโt add movement. ๐ฉThe wall is your friend when working on your dogโs positioning as well as yours. ๐ฉTiming and positioning of reward is very important.๐ฉhave fun and enjoy the process with your dog and remember, consistency is what creates success. We all see those pictures and videos floating around of children laying on, standing on, riding on or even pulling on the family pet. Well Iโm here to tell you that there is nothing cute about those interactions and most of them result in children being nipped, bitten or scratched and the dog being sent away. It is so important to involve your children in your dogs training and daily routine so both child and dog respect each other, establish boundaries around each other, and make for a great house hold. How can your child help train the dog?Age will play a huge role in what they are able to do with the dog but a great place to start is basic obedience commands like; sit, down, come, spin, and stay. Your child can reward with treats, kibble, toy or even pets. How do we teach your dog to respect your child? You being a secondary during training: this will help build your childโs confidence in giving your dog commands, show the dog they need to respect and comply with everyone in the house hold and help everyone bond. There is so many opportunities out there for your child and dog to grow and learn together through pet training, sport training, confirmation shows, and more.
Meet our dog of the week Mendy! Mendy is here for a Board and train program from Juneau to learn basic foundations. She loves hopping around like a bunny, chest scratches and learning new tricks. She goes home soon and we are so proud of how far she has come while with us.

Meet our dog of the week Potato! Potato is a year old โvillage specialโ puppy whoโs owned by our social media manager Brittany. Potato loves eating sticks, trying to get the cat to play with him, & chasing snow machines. Even though he loves those things Potato has come to us as a service dog prospect since Brittany is a veteran with PTSD. โขHere at Til Valhalla Working K9โs we are more than happy to show you where your dog(s) will be staying when they are with us. We encourage it so you have peace of mind knowing they will be in a good space.
๐พ Do they do meet and greets with you and your pup before their stay?
โขWe want to make sure your dog will feel comfortable around us & our staff when they board with us. Plus we want to know if thereโs anything you want us to know about your dog before boarding or board & train.
๐พ How is their communication? Do they respond to messages and calls? Do they answer all your questions and concerns?
โขWe have a buisness phone & do our best to answer your questions in a timely manner.
๐พ What is their emergency vet plan for your pup? Is it in writing?
โขWe make our clients sign paperwork so we know what they would want us to do in case of an emergency. No one wants anything to happen to their dog while boarding, but this gives you peace of mind we will do everything in our power to make sure your dog is taken care of in case of an emergency.
๐พ What is their vaccination policy? Do they enforce it with all clients and their personal dogs?
โขVaccine records are mandatory for not only boarding dogs but all dogs that train in our facility. We take it very seriously because we want all our dogs to be healthy & happy!
๐พ How often do they send updates? Do they respond when you reach out? Do you get pictures and videos?
โขWe typically try to update our clients daily or weekly. It depends on your preference. We also want to be as transparent as possible when it comes to your dogs time with us.

Our K9 Boot Camp offers the following training opportunities to you dog while your at work: Obedience training, confidence building, cooperative care, socialization, different dog sport trainings (barn hunt, rally obedience, agility and nose work), pack play, CGC and tricks and nail trims every Friday.

Barn Hunt is a fun sport that allows dogs of all ages, breeding, background to come play on a course of straw bales while searching for a rat. The rats are hidden in safe tubes in the straw and it is up to your dog to search them using their amazing scenting skills!

We are so excited to open Matsu's first K9 Fitness Facility. Open gym hours allow you to book a time to come train your dog in a safe and clean space.You will have access to the entire facility and all the training gear we have out on the floor.
