210 DAYS …. It’s been 210 days he’s lived in a shelter 😞

Chip has gone on tv , he’s been on the radio , he’s been in the newspapers, he’s been pet of the week and still no home .

Chip has had two “ serious “ applicants - meaning put in an application and got approved AND CAN YOU BELIEVE NEITHER ONE SHOWED UP FOR THEIR APPOINTMENTS 😭

It is such a let down for us who are so hoping for this gorgeous guy to get a forever home . People do this all of the time and it makes us so sad because you should at least call us to say you are not coming in or are no longer interested or adopted elsewhere.

But still Chip waits …. He watches everyday as others find their forever home .. families excited to come see their pups and he thinks maybe they are there for him but once he realizes they aren’t he curls back up on his bed. :(

Chip is likely a Bulldog pit mix as he is a low rider . He is a lower energy level dog . He is 5 years old and neutered , vaccinated and microchipped . Chip was abused and needs an adopter with lots of love and tenderness to give . He would do best as an only pet for now but once he understands the world he may like to live with another dog but no cats please . Applications can be found at www.Branfordanimalshelter.org

Imagine being thrown into a store while the automatic door is opened and then your owner running away. That's what happened to this poor boy today at a local store. 🥲😠 How can anyone do this to their cat!!! 🤬 He was so scared that he ran into the store. One of the employees apprached him and held out their hand, and he came over to her and climbed into a carrier. He is safe in our care right now. We have named him Hulk. He is very scared and super sweet. We are not sure how old he is just yet.

Hulk will be going to our vet this week to receive his vaccinations and an exam. After his vet visit, he will be available fo radoption, provided he gets a clean bill of health. We are taking applications for him this week. The sooner he can find a forever home, the sooner he will feel loved again. ❤

This is for any animal. Please be patient when you adopt a new pet. Some require more time than others. 😊❤

Please remember when you adopt a cat it can take months for them to start feeling at home. Lots of our cats have had horrible starts to life and some might of never had a home before, you need to work with them as it won’t happen overnight. You must understand that it does take love, time & patience with them but once you have worked hard you will have a friend for life and you have saved their life!

📍HARTFORD CT- owner was evicted and now staying in a motel only to bide time desperately trying to find a safe home for his dog. Only has one more night.
Zeus is Great with all people and lived with kids. Preferably only pet but owner says he’s been fine with other female dogs. Not males.

CLEO UPDATE: Cleo is back home at his foster mom's after spending a week at another foster's home, while his foster mom was on vacation. Cleo enjoyed his mini vacation and met some new friends. He unfortunately remained in a separate room for caution because he is just getting over his bout with lice. He made friends with the two cats, Ben (adopted from Rose Hope this year) and Buster, who live in the home where Cleo visited. Ben and Cleo automatically became very good friends, talking to each other from their side of the plexiglass. Cleo even brought his toys over to the door so Ben could see them. 🥰🥹 One night, Ben and Buster busted Cleo out of the room and the 3 of them proceeded to have a ball running around the house and waking up the dogs and the humans. 🤣🤣 It was all good fun!!!

Cleo misses his friends, but will hopefully be ready to find a forever home with a friend or friends of his own, for life. 😊 He has started new medication to hopefully clear his congestion that still has not responded to antibiotics. Once that is cleared, Cleo will be ready to find his forever home. He is a VERY special little guy who has overcome many obstacles to survive. He is a fighter, and a lover! ❤

She loves to snuggle with her human family and play with her canine friends. 😊 She loves to play with her toys and even watch movies on the TV. ADOPTION: Meet beautiful Kitty who is about 2 years old and has semi long hair (and look at those gorgeous eyes!). Kitty came to us with her feline friend who lived with her, Marinina. Their owner was going off to college and no family member would care for them. 🥲 Kitty is very sweet and affectionate and loves to be petted. She is not used to dogs but may be able to live with a gentle small dog.

Kitty is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, and tested negative for feline leukemia and aids.

ADOPTION: How can it be that these two cuties have had no interest for adoption??? 🥲Billy (white w/ black) and Theodora (dark tabby) are STILL available for adoption. Their brother Oliver has been already adopted. ❤ These 2 siblings are about 12 weeks old and looking for their forever home. These cuties are adorable, active, playful, and very curious. They are currently in a foster home, enjoying all the attention and love they receive. 🥰 If there is no other cat or kitten in their new home, they need to be adopted in a pair (we would like to keep them together if possible). They are up to date on their vaccinations, and are FeLV/FIV negative.

ADOPTION: We are so sad to report that Paige and Charlie (both girls) were returned to us this past Saturday, due to no fault of theirs. 🥲 They were adopted about 3 weeks ago and unfortunately, one of their new humans broke out in a terrible rash when interacting with them, despite having grown up with several cats. Even after going to the doctors and taking medications, the rash continued. The family were heartbroken in needing to return them to us, but didn't think it was fair to them to be confined to one room of the house. We agree.

So, these two cuties are available for adoption again. The pictures below are when they were about 6 weeks old. They are currently about 4 months old, and still very sweet. 😊

ADOPTION UPDATE: We are "over the moon" excited to share that Jill (now known as Menphina) found her forever home this past weekend!!!! 😃🥰 Jill had been with us for about a year with no interest, until this last week. 😊 She is settling in to her new home, getting lots of love, and playing with her favoritie toy mice (she hides them every night). 😃 She is loving all the attention and affection she is getting from her dads and loves settling on the couch to watch a little TV, especially Cat TV (see video on prior post).

SENIOR looking for a new home: Meet Scout, a 14 year old, big loving girl who was with one owner for her entire life and unfortunately the owner’s landlord decided they did not want any pets in the apartment. Scout has lived with a dog most of her life, and is spayed and up to date with all her shots.

Scout is in a safe foster home, but is very timid because of her new surroundings. She is confused and does not understand why she is not with her Mom of 14 years, but she is working really hard to bring out her loving personality. After four days she is finally allowing her Foster Mom to pet her and returns with head rubs.

Please consider giving this senior girl a loving home to live out the rest of her life. The adoption fee is waiver for Scout, but an application is required. ❤🥰 If you would like to meet Scout, she will be at Petco in Waterbury tomorrow (Saturday)from 12-2:30.

🚨FOSTER NEEDED🚨
Well, it has happened again, a dumped or abandoned unspayed cat has gotten pregnant and given birth to 3 kittens outside, and we were called to help them. 🤬 This has got to STOP. Rescues cannot keep up with the amount of these poor animals being let down by their humans!!!

We are looking for a foster to take this family in so that they can be safe, warm, and have a chance at a life filled with love. 🥰 The mother cat is very friendly (another indication that she belonged to someone) and there are 3 kittens about 4 weeks old. We desperately need a foster so please, please, please consider taking this family in. 🙏🙏😊
