The Animal Rehabilitation Center of Michigan (ARC) was founded in 2001 with a vision to help dogs live a full, pain free life. We were the first facility in the state of Michigan to have an underwater treadmill and Annette Engler LVT, CVPM, CCRP was Michigan’s first Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. We are proud to celebrate 20 years of helping companion animals that have experienced orthopedic

or neurological injury, soft tissue injury, arthritic conditions, weight management issues, or sports injury. We have successfully treated thousands of pets since opening in 2001 and are proud to have been pioneers in offering this service to our clients and community. Through isolated and controlled exercises, we are able to help dogs return to normal function. Hydrotherapy has proven to be a very effective form of low-impact exercise, allowing us to target specific muscle groups without additional impact on painful joints. We are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, piezowave, class IV laser therapy, ramps, stairs, cavaletti rails (similar to a horizontal ladder), therapy balls, weights and more. At ARC we enjoy working with all of our canine friends, but it is especially exciting when we can return a working dog back to their job. We have worked with police dogs, agility, obedience, dock diving and conformation dogs. ARC is proud to be affiliated with Union Lake Veterinary Hospital (ULVH). ULVH is a twelve-doctor practice with state-of-the art equipment and services such as digital radiography and ultrasound, endoscopy, surgery, dentistry, integrative medicine and much more. This affiliation allows us to offer convenient medical boarding services to our rehabilitation clients. When medical boarding we are able to work with rehab clients on a DAILY basis. At ARC we are committed to the bond between clients and their pets. To learn more about the services at the Animal Rehabilitation Center, please visit https://www.dogrehabmi.com. This week has been a tough one for the team at ARC. As we reflect on what we are thankful for this Thanksgiving, it is difficult to not get emotional. With great love, comes great loss. We share in this loss with you, the amazing families who bring their senior dogs to us so we can help them stay comfortable and mobile as long as possible.

Remy was a special guy, as a behavioral patient with severe anxiety, his family did not know how he would tolerate all of the handling that came with therapy. We welcomed them with open arms and created a safe space for Remy. For over a year, we watched Remy become the most comfortable, and confident boy that he had ever been.

We helped Remy and his family navigate his mobility issues and cancer diagnosis, all the while keeping Remy's best interests in mind. We kept Remy moving, until he was too tired to keep going.

Remy left this world surrounded by so much love, and all of the people he trusted so much with his care, who helped him become the best version of himself.

Run Free Remy. You will forever be missed.

Today, we are so grateful for the relationships we make with our amazing clients, and their beloved pets. Sending so much love from the ARC Family to yours.

Happy Thanksgiving.
