We had people asking why there were police vehicles in our parking lot yesterday.
As I write this, my eyes well with tears and there is a lump in my throat.
It was a gathering of fellow officers to pay respects to Ricky. Ricky began his career in 2019 and was an accomplished narcotics utility canine with a distinguished and extensive career. He was still on active duty when an incurable disease reared its ugly head and took him from his partner, handler, owner, and friend.
Rest in peace sweet boy. Thank you for your service. Thank you for trusting us to make your final moments as peaceful as possible.
