This FARM is now SOLD and no longer in operation as Belle View Farm. Time to retire. Thank you to all the wonderful people who let me love amd care for their horses. They were my joy. Now it’s time to get rested, recovered, spend much needed time with my family amd friends, and get traveling. Be well, my friends, and ride on.

The pastures are getting so green and lovely here at Belle View Farm in Waterford, Virginia! Field board available. Automatic waterers, big, beautiful pastures and run-ins, fed premium feed and balancer daily in individual feed stalls so they can eat at their own pace, happy to add owner provided supplements and meds, fly spray, blanketed in winter, horse quality round bales in the winter, pastures cared for and rotated. It’s a beautiful life for your horse here. We have professionally cut trails for rising through the woods and a bluestone riding area with great drainage. 75 acres of lovely right in Loudoun County. $425/ month. Oh what a beautiful day! Located in Waterford, Virginia. We have space in field board, a few stalls (various sizes)and one stall available that walks out to dry lot. We are very experienced with retirement, blind, elderly, and PPID/ severely insulin resistant horses requiring significant nutritional support, feed and hay weighing, and close monitoring. Come join us at our drama free, laid back, friendly farm! 75 acres, lush pasture, big beautiful run-ins, automatic waterers with heat back up, and exceptional care. Hot and cold oversized wash stall/ treatment room, outdoor wash stall for nice weather, tack rooms for both field and stall boarders, bathroom (as in a real toilet :), small bluestone riding area, and beautiful wooded trails.

With the addition of new horses and the new trails, Belle View Farm in Waterford, VA (7 miles west of Leesburg) is looking for a few new part time team members to help keep all the horses healthy and happy, and to keep the barn and property clean and tidy as it should be.

Morning or evening shifts available and some flexibility around start times depending on your schedule. You can choose to work 5 or 6 morning shifts a week which could be 20-25 hours, or as little as 4-6 hours a week in 2 evening shifts. Working for credit toward board fees is fine with commitment (field board is available, stalls are full).

Depending upon the shift and the weather, you may be cleaning and/or prepping stalls, feeding, soaking hay, scrubbing water and feed buckets, grooming or bathing a horse, dragging a field, spreading manure in a field, fixing a fence, painting something, trimming a shrub or tree, any combination thereof or other duties as assigned.

Super job for teens, college kids, folks looking to be in the great outdoors and not to be sitting at a desk, moms with kids in school who are missing their horse years, or anyone who isn’t afraid of (sometimes hard) work.

Requirements include a great, willing attitude, some experience handling horses or at least being comfortable around them in close proximity, having no fear or aversion to p**p cuz sometimes (well always, really) when you work around horses p**p is never far away, reliable transportation, must live within a reasonable distance of Waterford, VERY reliable and trustworthy, ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. References are required as is valid identification.

Pay in line with industry and based on experience.

Update: RENTED
For RENT on this 75 acre property with reduced stall and/or field board rates for the tenant: It is finally ready and available! 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, 230-year-old stone house Belle View Farm just half a mile outside the village of Waterford, 7 miles west of Leesburg. Every appliance is brand new, every window is brand new (and energy efficient), hardwood floors just refinished, fresh paint through out, updated bathrooms, added blown-in insulation, deck has been power washed and freshly sealed, etc and we even have really good internet available here. Large yard, much of which is fenced. Pet friendly with owner approval only and on a case-by-case basis and additional security deposit required. Not at all suitable for escape artist dogs. The house is on well and septic. There is a whole house automatic water filtration system. There is a good sized pond close to this house and I want parents to know that in advance. (Not everyone is comfortable with a body of water nearby.) There is no swimming by people or animals allowed in the pond but tenants can fish if they like. What more could you want?
Two year lease or longer preferred. Absolute minimum possibly considered is a one year. Rent is $2850/ month. Applications being processed through RentPrep.com so you won’t be providing me a lot of your sensitive information.

13 - 20 lb bags of ice at Giant
strange looks from everyone,
sweating through giving all the horses on the farm - all 23 of them - whether in field board or stall board a delicious bucket of cool, delicious water
and
adding ice to all the automatic waterers and the troughs:
$50, an hour to go get it and get back, and 2.5 hours to distribute it.
Watching the horses enjoying that cool, delicious water when it’s feeling like it’s 108 degrees outside ….. absolutely PRICELESS! 💕 We love these horses.

Belle View Farm in Waterford, VA is still looking for someone to join our team to be responsible for doing stalls, waters, and hay. This is PART TIME work and should take 3-4 hours, preferably 5 days a week. MUST be RELIABLE, have a reliable vehicle, RESPONSIBLE, and have reasonable experience with handling horses. Willing to train the right person. Nice herd - mostly older, retired sweeties. Cute little mini donkeys included for your pleasure and they will make you smile every day 😊

Belle View Farm in Waterford, VA (7 miles west of Leesburg) is looking to add 2 people to help us here. Responsibilities will include doing stalls (of varying shapes and sizes from doubles to mini stalls), watering, and cleaning up / sweeping aisle ways as well as keeping the run-in sheds cleaned up. If full, we have 22 stalls and 5 run-in sheds. Efficiency is critical but so is doing the excellent job we, and our clients, expect. Other possible tasks, depending on your experience and our schedule, could include turn-in, turn-out, a.m. or p.m. feeding, feeding our field horses, readying stalls for horse’s turn-in, holding a horse for the vet or farrier if the need were to arise, and other horse farm related tasks, as requested. Reliability and availability is absolutely essential, as is a smile on your face and a great attitude. This is a drama free environment and we plan to keep it this way. Horses are alive and need care all 7 days a week so if you don’t want to work weekends, you probably don’t want to work here. If you ONLY want to work weekends you should be in touch. You must have your own reliable transportation, have the reputation of being on time and ready to work with a good, can-do attitude, and an ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. and have no physical limitations that would keep you from lifting, bending, stretching, twisting, skating through mud now and again, and have no aversion to getting dirty. Strong preference given to people with horse handling experience and the patience needed with elderly and special needs horses. References required. Beautiful Belle View Farm in Waterford, VA (7 miles west of Leesburg and the equine hospital) has space available for field boarders in both the mare and gelding fields. No drama farm (feel free to take that elsewhere - the drama, I mean). Full time, professional management. This is a wonderful option for retirement or active riders. All horses here have a hands on four point check daily and we pride ourselves in the amazing body condition we keep your horse 🐎 in year round. 55 acres of phenomenal pasture, big, beautiful run-in sheds, automatic waterers with electric back up so they will never freeze, in winter all horses get high quality grain and unlimited, free choice horse quality hay. Additional options also available including trailer parking. New footing in our riding area coming in November. Stall space, patio stalls, and dry lot stalls are full with a waitlist but our Belle View Farm field boarders do get priority. Owner as well as Equine Operations Manager live on property. Welcome Z! Our first foal this season at Havenbrook at Belle View Farm, our medical and rehab arm. Z was born to sweet Leah, a gorgeous big, beautiful Zangersheide. Z is a Zangersheide German warmblood cross and isn’t she beautiful? She’s about 45 minutes old here with Lisa Renee Snooks checking her over.

Z is a very good baby but she is some kind of busy. She started trotting about by about an hour and a half and cantering about 15 minutes later. She will be a handful! Congratulations to owner, Mariah!!

At BVF we offer premier retirement or lay up to that horse who has carried you this far. We have room in both field board ($375 per month) and stall board ($650 per month for a 12x12 stall and up for larger stalls) with 55 acres under beautiful pasture and a newly renovated barn. Several of our boarders aren’t here in this area or the country but trust us with the care and keeping of their friends. Cushings? Blind? Special diet? Extra foot care required? Colic history? We have a whole lot of pasture! There is room in both field board ($375/ month) and in stall board (12x15 stall is $675/month with prices varying on stall size varying from 12x12 to 16x18. COVID-19 emergency plans are alive and well here! All our wonderful boarders have been informed that we have on-hand a full 30+ days of feed on hand for all our horses and our other animal friends here on the farm. Our hay loft is bursting with high quality hay, alfalfa is looking lovely too, and we have at least a month worth of bedding on hand for our stall boarders too. Our pastures are also greening right up and looking delicious! While our discussions with our suppliers and, frankly, their suppliers, has assured us that the supply chain of our needs won’t be effected, we want our clients to know that we will ensure their horses will be fed and well cared for no matter what. We will be using first in first out inventory practices to keep feed fresh while we continue to receive our weekly shipments.

Belle View Farm of Waterford, VA (between Leesburg and Purcellville) has openings for both geldings and mares for field board with 50 acres of beautiful pastures for them to enjoy. We also offer dry lot for our fiends who need it. Field board at Belle View includes daily four point check by our resident full-time equine professional, Lisa Snooks, big, beautiful run-ins, automatic waterers, mineral, blanketing or fly sheets and/ or masks (owner provided). We also offer options at an additional cost like hoof picking, grooming, baths, thrush buster, etc for those retired horses or folks who don’t get here as often as they might like. Our smallest pasture (not dry lot) is 11 acres. We have an outdoor cold water wash rack and an indoor hot and cold water wash rack field boarders are welcome to use at the barn. $375 per month (April thru Nov as we have an up-charge Dec thru March). We just love Miss Gypsy girl. She is sweet, very, very elderly, and incredibly well loved by her owner, Jean. Gypsy lives in one of our giant 18x18 stalls and loves it so much she would rather be there than anywhere. Literally. Retired from a tremendous career in the dressage ring, Miss Gypsy deserves all the love and attention she gets. This beautiful girl does like her naps, but don’t we all?

How cute is this yearling, Marvin? He arrived late last night from New Jersey from which both his mother and his owner hail, this little guy has joined us while he is certified to race in the great state of Virginia. He is sweet, sweet, sweet and enjoying his stall next to my lovely new mare, Rose, who is an experienced momma herself. Marvin is pretty close to as tall at a year as Rose is at 15. Look at those legs! Marvin will be under the watchful eye of Rose and of Belle View’s own amazing Lisa Snooks as he gets handled more and more everyday. He will be the best behaved boy at the track!

Belle View Farm is home to Havenbrook at Belle View, an equine rehab facility for the Marion DuPont Equine Medical Center (EMC) at Morven Park and a whole host of vet’s in the area. Wouldn’t you feel good having your horse in the care of people who are entrusted by vet’s to rehab a surgical patient or sick horse? Belle View Farm. It’s where your horse wants to be. Why here is one of our rehab clients now! After major surgery at EMC, sweet Meeko has recuperated for a few months with us and will be headed home right after Christmas.

Belle View Farm: Where your horse wants to be!

Beautiful, historic Belle View Farm, located in lovely Waterford just outside the town limits, is now offering field and retirement board on 75 acres of beautiful large pastures – some with gently rolling hills and others with no hills at all. Fields are equipped with brand new, matted run-in sheds with an attached feed and tack room. Each field has automatic waters equipped with heaters for winter months. Belle View has excellent pasture management practices in place, and a variety of optional services are available in addition to basic field and retirement boarding.

Field board includes free access to high quality hay in winter, one blanket change per day in winter, fly masks and spray administered in the warmer months. All horses will have a four point check twice daily. We are happy to grain and supplement your horse with owner-supplied provisions. A la carte options include reasonable rates for lay-up stall, dry lot requirement, holding for vet or farrier, bathing, regular hoof picking, etc. All horses must be fully vaccinated and have current Coggins.

Lisa Snooks, resident manager of Belle View Farm, is a highly regarded equine specialist with decades of experience as a rider and equine health care professional. She is also the owner-operator of Havenbrook Farm Equine Rehab.
