Hey yall I know it’s been a hot minute since I last posted but let me tell you it’s been a wild ride moving from NY to NC. Let me tell you a little bit about it. To start we did our first ever DITY move and boy oh boy was that not fun once we got everything unpacked everyone settled in and started in school here we added baby number 6 to the family in December. I also immediately got set up to start in taking kittens. I had taken in 2 pregnant moms by January the first Mercedes had 5 babies one of them had a severe cleft palate and while I managed to tube feed him and keep him healthy for 8 weeks after he was born I suddenly and abruptly lost him at 8 weeks and it was beyond devastating for me. The next momma I took in Barbie Q birthed 4 beautiful spunky babies. My next momma Daisy belonged to an older gentleman who lived by himself but was on hospice and needed to find her a home so she came to me pregnant a few weeks later had 3 babies unfortunately the first was a stillborn. Now to present date I have a momma Lady and her 3 gorgeous babies I also ended up with 3 bottle babies a few weeks ago after a neighbors dachshund chased off their feral momma and killed one of her kittens then, about 4 weeks ago a feral momma had babies under my shed and my dogs were not to happy about it so it wasn’t a safe place for them to stay so I was able to fish the babies out from under my shed and use them to lure their mom into a humane trap and reunite them in my home in a XL dog crate until they are old enough to be seperated from her and for her to be spayed and released back out. Then one of the other ferals in my neighborhood showed up with her 2 kittens who are about 7-8 weeks old so I trapped the kittens and used them to trap mom she has been spayed already and will be getting release in the next couple days. Last but certainly not least a local veterinary clinic reached out looking for a temp foster for a baby kitten that was attacked by a dog poor baby had to have part of her tail amputated and she also had a puncture wound to her abdomen that needed repaired so I stepped up and brought her home as well so I currently have 15 kitties I am caring for and to top it off my husband has been deployed for almost all of this. All of this to say I could really use help with food and litter for all of these babies I know families are struggling right now with the way the economy is but if you are able I could really use the help. Thank you so much in advance the kittens and I appreciate it.

A little snippet into what life looks like for us right now. Here is a video of little Cooper he was born with a cleft palate so unfortunately he can’t eat on his own because he would aspirate his food and it would kill him so he gets feedings through a tube every 3 hours around the clock and as you can see he doesn’t love it but it’s necessary to keep him alive until he can get surgery to correct his palate which typically can’t happen until 6-9 months of age.

We’ve got babies! 5 to be exact. There are some birth defects some minor some more severe. All are doing well at this point and time just waiting to hear back from a vet to see how we move forward with the babies with the birth defects. Prayers for these littles and that everything can be corrected would be appreciated.

We are on baby watch. Mommas water broke earlier tonight she’s been pacing around a lot of the day and being very very vocal and doing a lot of grooming. I will likely be up with her most the night to make sure her labor and delivery go smooth and be there if she needs help at all. I’ll update after babies are born. -

And so my journey here in North Carolina begins. Everyone meet little miss Mercedes, she was a owner surrender at a very small local animal shelter the owners no longer wanted her because she got pregnant by her son so instead of taking her to be spayed right away they let her get pretty dang close to term with these babies and then dumped her at the shelter. She will likely have her babies anytime in the next week or so. Praying we don’t have any deformities or still births since it is a case of inbreeding. All the prayers sent this was for this sweet sweet girl are appreciated and again all my links to donate are below.

Hey y’all I know I have been super MIA over here but I promise for a good reason. I haven’t been taking on any rescues because our Family is moving from Fort Drum Ny to Fort Liberty (Bragg) in North Carolina we are t-minus 3 weeks to our departure. I have been missing the rescue life so much and I can’t wait to get back to it once we get settled in North Carolina. Keep your eyes open for posts about new intakes in the near future. Also we are moving with two rescues if y’all remember Joy she was dumped by her adopters when they pcsd and had no idea how to take care of herself outside and was on deaths door when someone found her. She is thriving and fat as can be now. The second one is sapphire she was a feral I trapped when someone stole her kittens from her at 3 weeks old and pasted them on Facebook I was able to reunite sapphire with her kittens her kittens were all adopted and we worked so hard to socialize her and she has become the most loving lap kitty out there.

Update on sweet Joy. She is doing amazing! After her last vet visit her labs were perfect! Her kidneys and liver made a full recovery which is fantastic she was a little anemic but the vet said that’s to be expected after what she has been through. He actually said she is a miracle kitty and that had she gone 24 more hours without vet care she would have died. He also said he’s never seen a cats kidneys recover the way Joys did. After showing her labs to a dear friend of mine ( Cheri ) and talking over symptoms she though Joy possibly was battling toxoplasmosis so I brought it up to the vet and we decided to treat her for it. Joy is now jumping up on furniture and off of furniture playing with my other cats and gaining weight beautifully. I still don’t think she sees perfectly and she does shake her head periodically like she has something in her ears but I think this may be because of the seizures she was having. All in all Joy has recovered almost 100% and she is just the sweetest girl ever!

Update on sweet Joy. She is home but not out of the woods just yet she has definitely improved but her labs weren’t awesome but definitely better. She is on antibiotics and special food to help her kidneys hopefully recover even more. Also Joy was likely attacked by another cat while she was out as she has an abscess on her chest that ruptured I will not post pictures of that as it is graphic. She will have repeat bloodwork in about a week to check her kidney and liver again. Also Joy has lost some of her vision but we are hopeful it will return as she recovers.

I’m not sure if any of you remember Joy, but if you scroll back far enough you will see pictures of her from when she was adopted while she was with me and the day I trapped her when she was a kitten. Joy was adopted by another military family almost 2 years ago well that family decided that they didn’t want to take her with them when they moved about 1 month ago and dumped Joy outside to attempt to fend for herself. Joy was found over the weekend by another sweet lady who posted her on Facebook looking for her owner. Upon seeing her photo I immediately knew it was Joy and reached out to the lady about being able to pick her up. Microchip matched Joys microchip number that I had on file for her. I can not begin to tell you how poor of shape Joy is in. She weighs only a few pounds I can feel every bone in her body she can hardly stand/walk she is having tremors. I rushed her to an emergency vet as it was Sunday and everything else was closed. They ran blood work and her kidneys and liver are not doing well at all. Joy is staying at the vets for the next 3 days in an attempt to save her life and as you can imagine this is placing a huge financial burden on my family. I’m sharing in hopes that we can get some donation towards Joys care. I’m attaching my PayPal as well as my Venmo and cashapp if you have it in your heart to help Joy and I would be forever grateful. I will also post the bill from the vet with a video of Joy while we waited for her blood work to come back. Prayers would also be very much appreciated for this sweet girl she deserves to live a long happy life with a family who isn’t going to abandon her. Thank you in advance for any help y’all are able to give even if it’s just a share. ❤️ -
