He has done so great with training! Very eager to learn!!!

Buddy is our longest resident dog…he’s been searching for a home for 981 days & counting. We understand that he may not be a fit for some people, but that doesn’t make him any less of a good dog.

Buddy can be a bit aloof and unsure when meeting people, especially men. We’ve been working with him on this and he had done some training with Brooke and excelled! He knows his basic commands, but he’s a medium/high energy boy and needs proper outlets for his energy. A secure fenced yard would be ideal for playing in but not required. He can be picky with his doggy friends and doesn’t like cats but would love a large easy going female doggy companion to show him the ropes. Buddy does well with older kids and would prefer no small children even though he loves giving kisses – he’s just a bit too overwhelming for them.

To help Buddy find that perfect family, his adoption fee is reduced to $150.00 AND Brooke with Buddy’s Canine Services is offering free training opportunities to help him succeed!

Did you know that I am still doing random pet sitting visits in Watertown? Although I am not able to pet sit for a whole day, I may be able to stop in the middle of the day for a quick visit while you run out of town for the day.

I had the privilege of taking care of Buddy and Solar, a service dog. ❤️ so cute!!

The numbers above express Caley’s wait for her forever home…Is the wait worth it? For Caley it is! Look at her happy ever after!

BUT, seeing the crisis that the rescue world is facing now…what the numbers don’t show is the number of adoptable dogs who have lost their lives because we had to say no because we didn’t have room. Rescue is not a long-term solution – it’s not meant for a long-term life. It doesn’t show the motivation and feelings that drain out of our long-term residents or the foster homes who stand by them.

You might be wondering what our point is…well it’s that we need your help. We need your support – be it donating, fostering or just sharing our adoptable pups. We need your encouragement when we’re feeling frustrated or defeated. We need to know you’re supporting what we are doing every day.

Stay tuned in the days to come as we feature some of our longer-term pups that need to find their homes…they need you.

I didn't think moving was enough of a change, I had to add Caley to our family! She has been so great with her new home and adjusting to the new schedule. Me not so much, there is so much left to do! 😩 We have been busy with fixing up the area where your pups may stay! And it's starting to come together!!

Brooke, a Salt Studio member, has a passion for animals. She is sponsoring a Puppy Yoga class through her business, Buddy's Canine Service. This all levels yoga class will be filled with laughter and cuteness. It's a free will donation class with all the money going to Sarah's Treasures Rescue. All the puppies in attendance will be available for adoption. Both of these businesses provide important services to care for our pets and for pets in our community who desperately need a home. ‼️Exciting changes are coming to Buddy's Canine Service‼️

My fiancé and I have been on a house hunt for a while now. We thought we would be staying in Watertown, but unexpected events led to us finding a house just out of Hayti, SD on 4 acres of land. (Lots of space for the dogs to run and play 😉). We had to jump at this amazing opportunity, especially since offering a "board and train" program is my dream.

Unfortunately, with a 25 miles drive one way to Watertown, I will no longer be able to offer in-home pet sitting as of May 23rd, 2024. BUT I will offer boarding (pet sitting in my home!) for dogs. Sorry, kitties won’t be an option. 😔 If you have any questions or concerns about this new service, let me know! I must work out more specific details yet but wanted to get the word out!

Although, I would love for your dogs to come and stay with me. I do understand that you may prefer the in-home pet sitting service. In this case, I HIGHLY recommend Mariah and Wesley with Let's Go Pawty. I know some of you have them as your primary sitter, but I’d still be happy to be a backup with boarding at my house.
