Everyone meet Kye and his family! They are truly one of a kind and you can tell their love for Kye runs deep. Family is so important to them, in fact the cowboy hat Kye is wearing has special meaning to his family and they wanted to make sure it was included in his photoshoot. 🥰

🥰 What a crew?!? 🥰

❤️ I’m not sure who was more excited for these holiday photos, the kids or Dondi and Peanut Butter! Dondi and the kids were all smiles and Peanut Butter was stealing kisses. Such a beautiful family and seeing all the smiles and excitement just warms our hearts!

🫏 Meet the one the only Señor Carrots 🥕

🫏 Señor Carrots is a 12-hand donkey gelding and just like many of our animals was rescued. Señor Carrots joined our crew in the spring of 2023 and surprisingly when he first came to us he was shy but if you know Señor Carrots now you know he is anything but. 🤣With a lot of TLC Señor Carrots has definitely come out of his shell and loves to be mischievous with his best friend Peanut Butter.

🫏 Señor Carrots is proud to say he doesn’t get ridden and is pretty much only good for cuddles and carrots. His comical bray will be sure to get your attention when visiting the farm!

These ladies are some of our favorites and always show up to support the farm! Their enthusiasm, love, and compassion for our horses is unmatched. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for y’all’s continued love and support!

Sven is one of 5 of our horses currently involved in a research study. 4 out of the 5 horses scoped this morning are in excellent GI health. Sven still had some minor ulcers possibly from his colitis a few months ago but otherwise is in great health!

We are so proud of these great results. It means we are using excellent animal husbandry. The veterinarians present said that ours was one the best/healthiest barns they had evaluated. What a great early Christmas gift!

A big thank you to UGA Vet school, their amazing team, and everyone else that assisted today. Having such a great team is what makes us so successful! 💜

Pure happiness, day made 😍

Did you know we have more than just horses? Here at Butterfly Dreams we have a large variety of animals from goats to chickens to guinea pigs, even peacocks and geese! ANDDD how could we forget our barn dogs, cats, and the ever handsome, Señor Carrots (our mischievous donkey). Every day is an adventure and all our amazing animals help keep it interesting!

💜 The Graham family were absolute rock stars and amazing to work with! This was their first time out to visit Butterfly Dreams Farm and we couldn’t have been more excited to introduce them to some of our favorite horses.

🐴 Everyone meet the man, the myth, the legend, Peanut Butter 🐴

Peanut Butter is a small pony and is around 16 years old, but don’t let his small size fool you! Peanut Butter may only be 11.2 hands but with his big personality and mischievous ways you would think he was the biggest horse on the farm. 🥰

Peanut Butter wasn’t always this way, just like other horses on the farm he is a rescue who came to us malnourished and mistreated. When he first came to the farm, Peanut was anxious of “big people” but thru his time here he has grown in courage and is learning trust, though he still prefers children to adults.

You may have seen Peanut Butter around town as he is multi talented and has gone to many horse shows, 5K’s, fund raising events, and most recently the Watkinsville Christmas Parade. His cuteness and electric personality can’t be missed! Peanut Butter’s best friends on the farm are Taco and Senior Carrots, who may assist in his mischievous behaviors.

🌟 Everyone meet Eli 🌟

🌟 Eli is 14 and has been coming to BDF for hippotherapy since 2018. Eli has Sanfilippo Syndrome, which causes regression in all areas, meaning he is effected both physically and cognitively. As Eli gets older his therapy sessions become even more important! Riding helps Eli physically work on balance and strength, not letting those muscles give up! It’s also motivating for him to use the limited speech he has to make the horse go and complete other tasks he wants them to do while riding. Eli’s love of riding motivates him to push beyond any limitations and it’s something he looks forward to each week. Eli’s family is so thankful for Butterfly Dreams, the horses, the staff and volunteers!
