🌟 This past Friday our biggest boy Artie got a deep tissue massage from our amazing Chiropractor!🌟 Massages are very beneficial to both the horse’s physical and mental health. They are used as preventative medicine as well as working on active issues like muscle weakness, arthritis, improve muscle conditioning, treat stress, and treat detoxification. 🌟 Artie couldn’t stop the yawns from coming due to being so relaxed. It takes such a special horse to do all the things we ask of them. When a horse is trialed for our program we blow bubbles at them, toss balls over, under and at them, pretend to have a seizure, yell, throw our arms around, lay all over them in unusual positions. If they “pass” all the field tests they get to come to the farm for a thirty day trial. Only if they show themselves to be unflappable, kind and willing, do they become part of our herd! Did you know that walking on uneven terrain works core muscles in a different way then walking around in an arena? This young man once needed full assist from both sides to sit upright for even 15 minutes on a slow moving horse in a sand arena. Look at him now!
