Exciting litter born today! Cross Creek’s Naomi delivered a litter of 6 healthy babies sired by Sea Salt’s Flapjack. Only one peanut in the litter (which I didn’t think was possible since I assumed Naomi was a “normal”).

Q&A’s Meatball (left) and Q&A’s Maddie (right) both left yesterday to local youth to growout for fall juniors to show. Can’t wait to see how these two growout, both are showing lots of promise at this age! 🤞🏻🧡

I had a blast with friends at the SWRRBA show this weekend. We got to show under some new judges and I valued their comments and opinions. It’s always fun to see the different qualities each judge looks for in the breeds. I spent more time visiting and just enjoying friends, so didn’t keep super close track of placements. We had several top 3 placements in large classes. It was fun to watch the judges really struggle placing the top of the classes because of the quality of rabbits there. Congrats to all the winners this weekend! I feel like everyone had some good wins.

My two highlights:

Q&A’s W***y Wonka - Broken Black Otter Sr Buck - Best of Variety (this is his 2nd senior leg at 7 months old - I believe he has a junior leg or two and is GC eligible now)

Coin’s P1 “Crackhead” - Solid Black Senior Doe - Best Opposite S*x of Breed

I also had several youth that were showing rabbits from my breedings that they’d purchased. So happy to see them competing well on the tables against tough competition.

Q&A’s Sid - Broken Orange Sr Buck I believe picked up 2 senior legs this weekend at 7.5 months old. So proud of this little guy and Alora Lobacz for keeping him in great coat and condition. He’s now GC eligible with some really big wins under his belt (BOV at 2024 HLRSC Nationals / 1st BJB the day after nationals specialty)

Q&A’s Bo Peep aka “Delilah” - Orange Senior Doe (full sibling to Sid) held her own this weekend as well, placing in the top 3 in several shows with tough competition. The Marek girls have learned so much in a short amount of time! I cant wait to continue to watch them grow in this hobby.

Q&A’s Maleificent - Black Otter Senior Doe placed top 10 at just 7.5 months old as well (9th place SJD at 2024 HLRSC Nationals). So proud of Thera and how well she’s done with this doe and her sire Q&A’s Damon (who had some great placements over the weekend as well against some tough broken senior buck competition). These two look better every time I see them. We bred Maleficent to W***y Wonka and I can’t wait to see what they produce. Such an exciting and well matched pairing.

I’m late posting, but had an exciting litter born yesterday. 3B’s Foxy welcomed EIGHT healthy babies sired by Sea Salt’s Flapjack. Can’t wait to watch these babies grow.

A cute little pre-junior buck that I’m enjoying watching grow out. He’s going to be small and typey, but there’s a lot I like about him at this age. He was obviously very unhappy that I had him out messing with him at feeding time. 😂 The oranges are beginning to win my heart back, this is the color I primarily focused on as a youth. 🧡

Well, I know I’m late making this post but 2024 Nationals is officially a wrap. I love this breed and will continue to do so no matter the ugliness that sometimes comes along with it. I’ve been lucky to have made life long friends in this crazy hobby who’ve cheered me on in or out of rabbits. That being said, I will now strive to be that same level of mentor for this generation of youth coming up that I had.

I am so proud of the youth that I mentor or that have purchased rabbits from me. They had some awesome placements with rabbits from my barn. Seeing the smiles on their faces is all the “recognition” I need. They’re the future of our hobby and I can’t wait to watch these kids continue to develop their own lines.

As some know my niece Baelynn chose Jersey Wooly’s as her breed to raise and show. We are so lucky to have the mentors that we do in this breed with the Bolings. I had this doe out yesterday for convention breedings and am just OBSESSED with how wide she is. I can’t wait to see what she produces for Baelynn. Fingers crossed for babies in 31 days! 🤞🏻

I had this doe on my available list, I just pulled her out for updated pics. The person that was inquiring passed on her and got her sister. Well, time to find a hole for her a little longer. She’ll be sticking around. Lol. She’ll be brood only as her mom overgroomed her and she’s missing part of her tail, but I’m excited for her to turn 6 months old now. 🧡
