O praise the one who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead
Well praise the one who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead......Jesus ❤
God is good and we are not. Sadly, our hearts are corrupt. Just one glance at the mirror of the Ten Commandments reveals the depth of our iniquity since we have not kept any of them. We have all turned away from God and gone our own way. God is perfectly holy and just and cannot just sweep our sins under the rug. He must punish sin wherever it is found. Because God is love, He graciously provided a way to forgive us of our sins and reconcile us to Himself without compromising His character. He sent His only Son, Jesus, into this world. Jesus, fully God and fully man, lived the sinless life that you and I could not. Today, two thousand years ago, Jesus was betrayed, falsely accused and delivered up to be mutilated, mocked and crucified. As he was hanging in total agony on the cross, the fierce wrath of God that was reserved for you and I was poured out on Him. He was crushed in our place and punished. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him. 3 days later, Jesus rose from the dead proving that He was more than a good teacher or a prophet; He is indeed God in the flesh sacrificed for sinful man. Jesus commands all people to repent, turn from their sin, and place their trust in Him. We must come to Him broken and humble, realizing the sinfulness of our hearts, and we must trust in Him for the forgiveness of our sins just as we would trust in a parachute to save us if we were jumping from a plane. Good Friday is sad, but it is good. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away our sins! Hallelujah!!
