This week’s Monday Montage features pictures of a few new kitties, and a few have gone home! Stella, Jinxy & Ahsoka, and Rey went home this week, and Muskie and Padme went on deposit this weekend!

Unfortunately, Mercedes, Butters, and CeeCee are once again available. In the collage, we have photos of Jinx & Blossom, as well as Cheeky-puff & Flip, and Boba, Anakin, and Chewbacca are all ready to go home. Jinx & Blossom and Cheeky-puff & Flip are both bonded pairs, and Boba, Chewbacca, and Anakin are available and can go together or separate.

Boba, Anakin and Chewie are the friendliest, silliest boys from the group of 12 cats that found their way to us through a Good Samaritan that found them in a duffel bag at the bottom of their driveway. Cheeky-puff and Flip are a skittish pair that need a quiet, comfortable home where they can learn to be cats and understand that people are not dangerous. Jinx & Blossom are another bonded pair that have BIG personalities, and would do well in an active home where they can have lots of attention and playtime!

Have you been thinking of fostering but haven’t yet decided to jump in and sign up? If so, we could use your help now! We have had several calls about pregnant moms and babies, and need more fosters to give the families a safe place to grow and rest.

Last weekend, we got a mom and her five two-week old babies and were able to get them straight into foster care. We prefer to get such young kittens and their moms into foster care without keeping them at the shelter too long, and we can only do this if we have enough foster homes to which to send them.

These babies are in foster and will not be ready to be adopted for a few more weeks, but you could have such adorable faces in your home too if you sign up to foster!! Follow this link (https://thecommunitycatconnection.org/you-can-help) and fill out the foster application, return to [email protected] or drop it off during open hours!

Happy Friday! This week we have an update on Dinah, now named Kiki! She came to us last year and was adopted just over a year ago. She was surrendered as her family was splitting up and had to surrender her and two other siblings. After a short time at her shelter, she found her forever home! Read below for her story from her family:

“We renamed our cat from Dinah to Kiki. She took several months to warm - fleeing to her room for most of the day and coming down only in the evening at first. Now she spends all day downstairs with us and has several toys she likes to play with. She even tolerates visits and gentle petting from the grandchildren. We have an adult nephew who adores her and is very happy to cat sit for her when we take a vacation. Kiki is thriving!”

Thank you for the great update and for choosing and loving Kiki!

Again, sorry for the late post for this week’s Monday montage- I really need to get better with scheduling posts! We have several new kitties for you this week, and a few went home/on deposit! Annabelle, Sabrina, and Luke went home, separately, and Ahsoka & Jinxy are going home together soon!!!Also, Cobweb and Spider are on deposit together! Now for the most exciting news: China is on deposit and waiting to go home! As of a week from now, she will have been with us for a year, and that does not happen often at the CCC. Keep your paws crossed for her to head home soon!

We have several bonded pairs available now, including Tiny & Taylor and Lucky & Oreo. They are all from the same home, where their owner became ill and is in hospice now, and the family couldn’t find homes for his six cats, so they surrendered them to us. We are still trying to get the other two into our care but since the beginning of kitten season, we have been full often and it has been difficult to coordinate. They are all males, and some are on the full-figured side so they are currently on a wet-food only diet to try and slim down! They are still settling in but they are all very sweet and loving, and would love a quiet home to relax and be safe in once again.

Other bonded pairs available now are Jinx & Blossom, Obi-wan & Kylo, and Cheeky-puff and Flip, none of which are pictured in the montage. You just have to come see them in person to meet them! They are all kittens and are very attached to their bonded sibling, particularly Cheeky-puff and Flip, who came to us as feral kittens and are still very shy and nervous.

The benefit of adopting a bonded pair of cats is that they have one another to rely on in a new environment, they keep each other company, and you save two lives instead of one!

Other cats that we have available that are not bonded pairs include: Smokey, Muskie, Mercedes, Butters, CeeCee, Stella, Rey, Padme, and Cinnamon. Again, the blue heart singifies a bonded pair, and a red star indicates a cat with special needs. Come meet all of our wonderful adoptable cats this week during open hours on Thursday and Friday from 12-3:30 and Saturday from 10-1!!

Happy Friday! Today’s Forever Friday is another one of my fosters, named Jefferson! He and his brother were trapped as ferals and joined another two kittens about the same age and became one little foster family. They were named Hancock, Betsy, and Georgie, and were semi-feral and a bit challenging to get friendly, but they are living the housecat life now! Read below and see the adorable pictures of Jefferson in his loving forever home:

“Thanks for reaching out! Jefferson is doing great. He ADORES his big sister, Sadie! They are inseparable- he follows her everywhere she goes and wants to do whatever she is doing! Jefferson loves to play, and also loves to be snuggled, even if he won't admit it. His nickname is "Reacher" because he is always stretching his arms out and reaching for things. He is healthy, happy and so loved! “

Thank you for the update, for choosing this lovely boy, and giving him a great life!

We have a bit of a request- since last week, we fixed a total of 14 cats and many of them are kittens, and then soon after received several litters of kittens into our care, and as such we’re in need of kitten food! Could you find it in your heart to donate or send us some Purina Kitten Chow and kitten wet food? Any kind of pate without fish (Friskies country style dinner flavor) or Fancy Feast kitten food is ideal! Take a look at the photos to see some of the faces you’ll be helping feed. 😻

Please note: most of these particular kittens are not available yet and are in foster, but stay tuned for when they are available!! The snoozy void boy with the orange collar (and his siblings) is available though, so come meet him during open hours!

Happy Monday! We don’t have any new kitties on the montage picture, but we do have MANY new kittens available! CeeCee is on deposit, as well as one of the kittens, Hera.

We have a large group of all black cats available for adoption, so if you have always wanted a house panther (or two!), now is a great time to come meet them! They are: Obi-wan, Luke, Kylo, Boba, Anakin, Chewbacca, Rey, Ahsoka, and Padme. Most of them were in a few different foster homes while waiting to be spayed or neutered, and they are all SUPER sweet and loving, as well as totally adorable. Obi-wan, Luke, and Kylo have a very in-depth description for them from their lovely foster parents if you get to meet them at the shelter, and we will do another post spotlighting them.

We also have Blossom & Jinx, a bonded pair of siblings, and Cheeky-Puff and Flip, another bonded pair of siblings. These two pairs of kittens are separate from the large group and are a few tabbies and Blossom is a beautiful tortie! These two were rescued and play and fight like siblings, but they do love each other very much. Cheeky-Puff and Flip are very shy and nervous but they are very sweet and would do well in a quiet home, as long as they have each other!

Come down and meet all our adoptable kitties during open hours on Thursday and Friday from 12-3:30 and Saturday from 10-1. We also are open tonight at 5:30 for those of you that met kitties yesterday and wanted to put a deposit on them.

Just wanted to extend a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, brought donations, and supported the CCC during our 20th anniversary party today! We had a great day with many wonderful visitors, great food, and lots of activity for the kitties and the volunteers. A reminder for those that met kitties today and are interested in adopting, we are open to take deposits tomorrow at 5:30. Thank you for your continued support!

Don’t forget- tomorrow is our big 20th anniversary celebration! Come by the shelter from 1-4 to participate in games, raffles, refreshments, and to meet SO many kitties we have available for adoption now! This week we had 16 cats get spayed and neutered, and almost all of them are ready to get adopted now.

Also, the party is a thank you to all our supporters, donors, fosters, staff, and most importantly, our wonderful volunteers, over the years!

Again, sorry for the late post. Happy Friday! This Forever Friday is about CCC Tommy, now named Charlie, who was adopted a year ago today!! I had asked his family for an update and held onto it for the right time, it seems. He was loved by his former family, but they could not take care of him and surrendered him to us. He was only at our shelter a short time before he was adopted. Read below for his update:

“Tommy (now named Charlie) is doing very well! He's very playful and loves to watch the backyard wildlife from his window perch. He's always finding new places to explore, including a nice spot to curl up in the bathroom sink. But his favorite spot to lounge is the armchair, where he can really sprawl out!”

Thank you for the update and for choosing and loving him! He’s a cutie pie!

China has been with us for a LONG time, almost a year! 😥 can you share her video to help her find her forever home? She is a particular lady, who does not like other cats and would be best as the only pet in a home, as well as she would not do well with small children. We’ve had other kitties much more … unpredictable, we’ll say, that have found their forever home but for some reason, we haven’t had too much interest in China. She’s a beautiful steel grey girl with gorgeous eyes. She is on medication for anxiety, but she takes it well in her food and may not need it for life when she settles in to her forever home. If taking a chance on this slightly spicy 🌶️ girl sounds like a good fit for you, come meet her during open hours on Thursday and Friday from 12-3:30 or Saturday 10-1, and also this weekend at our special open house anniversary celebration from 1-4!

Happy Monday (already Monday again???)! This week we have several new kitties that will be ready very soon, so they were not added to today’s Monday montage. Let’s just say we have more than 10 cats being fixed this week and they will all be ready to go by Saturday! Betty is approved and going home soon, and we have no one new on deposit 😞. On the available cat picture, the red star indicates “special needs” and the blue heart indicates “bonded pair”. The two special needs kitties have hyperthyroidism and are on medications for life.

Come in and visit our kitties during open hours and also at our open house this upcoming sunday for our 20th anniversary celebration! It will be held at our Webster shelter from 1-4 Sunday, June 9th and will include snacks, games, and raffles, as well as an open house to meet all our shelter kitties! Come and meet the special volunteers, fosters, donors, and staff that have kept the CCC running as the wonderful place it is for the last 20 years.

Sorry for the very late post today, but we had a glitch in our email and all of the forever Friday posts I had been collecting and saving are missing!!! We’re working on it, but it is a bummer. For today’s Forever Friday, I have a short update from a kitty that was adopted a long time ago, her name is Winnie Cooper! Read on for her family’s update on her and her siblings:

“I don’t know if you remember our cat Winnie Cooper that we adopted many years ago! She is still going strong and sitting in her favorite window seat. She does not fit in this box, we know she doesn’t fit in this box and have tried many others, this is her favorite box! Winnie is an angel but our other cat is a bit of a crab. Our other cat Fonzie really is a pill. He’s still a pill to Winnie and she’s been here for like 8 years. We had another CCC cat, his name was Carlisle and we had to say goodbye to him last year. He was a pi**er! You guys do great work, thanks for the nice chat!”

Thank you for loving Winnie and her siblings all these years, and thanks for the update!

Thank you to all service members on this Memorial Day. We appreciate and thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Chepin and Lady went home! AJ & Tanner are on deposit together, and Chepo is going home soon! We have a few new kitties that are also from the group including CeeCee and Cobweb & Spider, their names are Butters and Mercedes. They are both very sweet cats that are older and now have nice clean teeth! They do however have hypothyroidism and are on a daily, lifelong medication.

We still have China, Smokey, Annabelle, Cinnamon, Cobweb & Spider, CeeCee, Betty, Stella and Jinxy available for adoption.

Come meet our adoptable kitties during open hours Thursday and Fridays from 12-3:30 and Saturdays from 10-1. It would make their day to have a visit and hopefully you’ll find the right fit for you!

Happy Friday (thankfully!) This week’s Forever Friday is another very special kitty to me, originally named Fiddle, as he was ALSO one of my fosters, from my first litter born at my house. His mama was Baby Girl and his siblings were Spoons, Mandolin, Banjo, and Cowbell. This little guy had a rough start in foster, where he developed fading kitten syndrome and almost didn’t make it!! He luckily had the care of another wonderful foster that helped him get back to his adorable playful self but he stayed tiny and fragile for a while and it was tough to find the right home for him when it came time to adopt him out. Luckily, the right family found him, and you can read their update below!

“Hello! Binx is doing fantastic! He’s so happy and healthy and we spoil him quite a lot! I would love to have him featured on your post 🙂 he’s such a curious cat and loves being with us at all times. Anywhere we go in the house he follows right behind. He’s just so friendly and curious, and to our surprise he loves water! He likes to lay in our sinks with the water running on him, and he even figured out how to turn the faucet on by himself lol. He gets lots of play time everyday with his many favorite toys but also loves a good nap in his favorite beds around the house. He also loves to cuddle and be tucked into bed at night with his blankets! Here’s a bunch of pictures of him! Some of them from his very first Christmas!”

I asked if he got any bigger:

“He got bigger but he’s not very big. He is pretty long and slim. We feed him the best quality foods and he gets lots of exercise everyday. Unfortunately he is a picky eater so we are always looking for new flavors. He doesn’t like chicken much, but loves tuna, duck and salmon. But after a while of eating only tuna, duck and salmon I feel like he gets bored of it. He also only likes soft treats, not crunchy ones. And he loves fresh water twice a day with 1 ice cube in it lol. I’m so glad we found each other too, he’s such a special little boy!”

Thank you for the update and for adopting loving this wonderful little guy the way he deserves to be loved!

Happy Monday! This week we have a few new kitties available, and a few that have gone on deposit. Biscuit went home, CeeCee, Chepo and Lady are all on deposit, and our new kitties are Stella and Betty.

Betty came to us from someone who helps with TNR, and noticed that she and her sister Veronica were very friendly and not like most TNR kitties. Veronica won’t be available for a while as she is on quarantine with us, but Betty is ready to find her forever indoor home! She is a sweet, petite little tabby girl who loves pets and treats. Since she came to us through TNR, we don’t know a whole lot about her but she would likely be a pretty good addition to a lot of different home environments.

Stella has had a tough life so far and is looking for a comfortable safe place that she can call her own. She was surrendered to us with her two little puffball babies who are in foster for a while longer. She has had NINE litters of kittens that we know of, and she is only FOUR years old. Thank goodness this was her last litter, so she can live out her life in peace and in a loving home where she can have all the attention to herself.

We also still have China, Smokey, Cinnamon, Cobweb & Spider, Annabelle, Chepin, Jinxy, and AJ & Tanner available for adoption. Come meet all of our wonderful adoptable kitties during open hours on Thursdays and Fridays from 12-3:30 and Saturdays from 10-1.

Just wanted to share a few exciting events coming up this weekend and next month:

This Sunday, May 19th from 1-4pm is our spaghetti and meatball dinner, held at Bush Hall! Come enjoy some delicious food, desserts, and participate in our raffle for some great prizes. Tickets are available at the CCC shelter and also for sale at the door. Come early and come hungry!

Also on Sunday June 9th, we have our 20th anniversary party, held at the CCC shelter from 1-4pm. It is in place of our kitten shower this year, to celebrate a wonderful milestone in the history of our shelter. The event will have snacks, games, raffles, and an open house to visit with our kitties. It is to celebrate our volunteers, fosters, donors, staff, and anyone else that supports the shelter.

Happy Friday! Today’s Forever Friday is another very special one to me, as it is from one of my fosters’ forever homes! Tempest and her siblings were born at the shelter and spent the next few months at my home, growing and learning how to cat! Their mom, Tippy, was one of the best moms I’ve ever had. She never pushed them away and I think she would have been happy staying with her babies forever… which is unusual because they generally have had enough by the time the babies are weaned!

Tempest was always the most shy, until one time we brought her in the bathroom with us and she blossomed with the individual attention! From then on, she joined her siblings in their “chorus of purrs” as we called it every time we opened their foster room door or came over to see them. They were a joy to have as fosters, and I was very happy to read about her and her family’s happy endings. Her name is Lucie now, and read below for her family’s update:

“Tempest (or as she is known to us, Lucie) has quickly asserted herself as the queen of our house. She is the sweetest, funniest little cat with a big personality. Lucie loves to snuggle with her brother Levi (also a CCC alum) and to hitch a ride around the house on my husband and I's shoulders. Her favorite places are sunny window seats, the very top of the cat tree, and snuggled up on top of our legs in a blanket.

We love our CCC cats so much and are very thankful to you all!”

Thank you for the update and the pictures, and for adopting this wonderful girl, and her brother Levi as well! I also added some pictures at the end of her when she was a tiny baby at my house!

Happy Monday! This week we have a few new available kitties because they finally were able to be seen for dental cleanings! CeeCee, Annabelle, Cobweb & Spider are now ready for adoption. Chepin is also now available and he is considered special needs. Biscuit is going home soon, and Gwen & Griffin were adopted last week. Lenny and Madagascar also went home last week!

CeeCee, Cobweb & Spider were surrendered from the same home and were in need of dental cleanings and some extra love. They are all very sweet and loving, and CeeCee is an adorable tripod that loves attention and to play, even at 10 years old. Cobweb & Spider are very bonded and must be adopted together. They came in very shy but have opened up since they’ve been with us and now love pets and attention.

Annabelle is a sweet, loving young lady at 10 years old, and she is so beautiful and soft! She loves pets and attention, and would enjoy living with another friendly cat or as the only kitty in the home.

Chepin is a super sweet soft orange boy with twisted front legs. He gets around just fine but is considered special needs due to his legs. He came in with another kitty, Chepo, but they don’t seem to care for each other so they can be adopted separately.

Happy Friday! Today’s Forever Friday story is brought to you by Bips and Bops’ forever home! These guys came to us as a scared, nervous and shy bonded pair that were never far from each other. They had a plethora of health issues and spent a long time with us at the shelter and in a great foster home that got them to be the friendly boys we knew they could be with enough attention! Their forever family shared a great update with us recently, read below:

“The boys are doing great. Since they were brought home they give us so many moments of laughter with their silly antics. They’ve also found their voices and talk to me every day. Each loves snuggling with me on my lap and sometimes take hours long naps on my lap. Bips likes watching me play video games and Bops likes watching Harry Potter. They have a routine with my father. They know that when he’s done eating his dinner, it’s time for treats. They’re still a little shy around people they don’t know very well, but will open up to them the more they’re exposed. They’ve also found some independence from each other after a few months of being attached at the hip. They still occasionally nap together on the sofa. They’re both my babies and I couldn’t picture my life without them now.

The blanket they’re on now belongs to them. They don’t like seeing someone else use it 😂

When I had come into the shelter last April, I had recently lost my cat of 16 years. I only had intentions of adopting one cat. My niece, who was 14 at the time was hanging out near the boys’ cage. I had been following them on your page for a couple of weeks and knew that they had been with you for a while. After not really vibing well with a singular cat, I approached their cage. As soon as Bips started giving me kisses I knew right away that I couldn’t let these two go a day longer without a forever home. “

Thank you for the WONDERFUL update and for giving these great boys the loving, safe and comfortable forever home they deserve!!

Sorry again for the late post! Happy Monday! This week we only have one new kitty to share with you, as well as several of our longer stays. Gwen & Griffin went on deposit and should be headed home soon together, and Biscuit and Lenny are also on deposit separately.

Madagascar is a new arrival, and he came in with a very sad story. We will spare you the details, but just know this boy deserves a safe, loving home for the rest of his days. He would do well with a quiet home perhaps alone or with a very nice cat or dog friend, and perhaps also without children. He has been through a lot and needs a stable, comfortable place to call home. Could that be with you??

Come meet our adoptable kitties during open hours every Thursday and Friday from 12-3:30 and Saturday from 10-1. We also have our spaghetti and meatball dinner coming up on Sunday May 19th- tickets are on sale at the shelter!

Happy Friday! Sorry today’s Forever Friday post is a bit late. It is brought to you today by Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean was quickly adopted last year after she was surrendered to us, and settled in to her new home after a short time. Read below for her update from her forever family:

“Jelly Bean has adjusted to our home very nicely! She was shy at first, getting to know us and our 2 other furry felines. Jelly Bean loves getting brushed, drinking up water from her paw and receiving many treats. She’s a wonderful, little fur ball addition to our family!”

Thank you for adopting her, and for providing a loving home for her. She looks very happy and content!
