A quick Forever Friday story coming at you late on this Friday afternoon! Read below for an update on a sweet little kitten that was adopted in August:

“Sending an update on Gus formally known as Stuart. We adopted Gus back in August and he has brought us so much joy! He is a menace to society, always getting into something, but also the most loveable cuddly kitten! His motor is always going and his favorite thing right now is taking all the ornaments off the Christmas Tree! He has been the best addition to our family! But what they say about orange cats is absolutely true!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫”

Thank you for the update, and for adopting this adorable little guy!

Happy first Monday montage of 2026! Unfortunately, Marshmallow came back to us and looking for her forever home! Olive & Martini, Oatmeal & Pudding, Anchovy & Jordi, and Mimi went home this past week! Chipper and Almond are on deposit separately.

We have one new kitty named Cheeto, but he didn’t have a great intake photo, so he’s un-pictured for now. He is a handsome long haired orange and white kitty who’s about 12 years old and was owner-surrendered due to allergies.

Marshmallow is back with us and ready to find the right fit for her, where she can have plenty of time and patience to decompress and get to know her new surroundings. We know she is very pretty, but please do not apply to adopt her solely for her looks. She would do well with a super slow introduction to other cats and a quiet home with owners who are familiar with under socialized cats that need time and space to settle in. Please reach out to us if you think this could be your home!

We are back to our usual open hours schedule- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4-7 and Saturday 10-1! Come down to meet all of our wonderful adoptable kitties, and hopefully find your new best friend!

Happy New Year! We have our year-end statistics for you!

In only December, we did the following:
Intake: 17 cats
Adoptions: 38 cats

In 2025:
332 intakes
286 adoptions
At least 167 cats for TNR (Trap Neuter Return)

In 2024:
191 intakes
187 adoptions
No data on TNR

This means that in 2025, we rescued 141 more cats and adopted/transferred/returned to owner 119 more cats than in 2024!

Thank you for all your support this past year, where we were able to help so many cats. This year had significant challenges that countless rescues faced alongside the CCC, including abandonment, cruelty, lack of resources, changes in costs of living, compassion fatigue, and general stress, as well as a kitten season that never ended.

We are hoping to help even more cats this year! Please consider joining us if you have ever thought of volunteering, fostering, or donating to a shelter, we will need your help this year! Reach out for more info, or take a look at our website here: https://thecommunitycatconnection.org

Happy first Forever Friday of 2026! Like I mentioned in our last Monday montage, Dragonfly was officially adopted (by me) last week, so here’s an update on how he’s been doing here at home.

He was born here at my house on July 27th, 2024 and once his mom Carmella, left to get spayed and find her forever home, he and his siblings, Ladybug, Katydid, Bumblebee, and Butterfly, spent a decent amount of time getting used to my cats. My girl cat, Montana Banana, took a liking to them all but would “mother” him in particular. When they all went to get spayed/neutered, it was discovered that he had a heart murmur and needed to wait to get neutered until he went to see a specialist. His siblings were all spayed and neutered and found their forever homes very soon after! One of his sisters found a home with a friend of a friend so I get to see updates every so often!

He went to the Tufts cardiology department for an echo and it was determined that he had pulmonary stenosis, which is a very rare congenital defect in cats. It is the narrowing of the heart valve, which causes the heart to work harder than it should, and creates changes in the structure of the heart muscle. The echo test before the surgery showed how the stenosis progressed in his short lifetime, and it had already caused significant changes to the heart. He had the surgery which was a very stressful time but he made it through like a champ and didn’t seem to affect him at all! The only issue he had was leaving his neck alone while it healed, so he had to have it wrapped and glued more than once and for a longer than normal time.

Since he stayed with us longer than expected, we really came to love him and were very happy to find out recently that his heart surgery was very successful and his heart remained stable after it. We feel like he was always supposed to be with us, so we feel pretty good about having him around a long time!

Thank you to those who donated and shared his fundraiser and for those who have enjoyed following his story. He’s a special guy and deserves the best!

Happy last Monday of 2025! How fast this year went by, right?? We had several very exciting adoptions last week, including Muggles & Dobby, Thumbs, Marshmallow, Maverick, Barracuda, Stormy, and our long-time favorite, Dragonfly! Mimi is on deposit and headed home soon, and Jordi is also on deposit. For new kitties, we have Chipper, Molly, and Mochi.

Surprising to absolutely no one, Dragonfly has been adopted by his foster (yours truly) after receiving excellent news at his most recent visit to the cardiologist, that his heart surgery results were very stable and he only needs to be seen once a year or even less! He has bonded with my girl cat, Montana Banana, and she has mothered him since he’s been with us, and he gets along (mostly) well with our other cats. He is a silly firecracker and a mama’s boy, so we couldn’t bear to part with him. Thank you to all who helped him get the care he needed to live a long and happy, healthy life! 😻

Chipper is a new kitty this week, and she is a looker! She is an owner surrender as her owner went into assisted living. She is friendly, sweet and about 8 years old. Molly was a stray kitten collected from the same place as Coconut and Chloe. She is very pretty and seems sweet but a little shy, but she was found outside with other cats so she would do well with others. Mochi is an adult kitty of about 4 and a half years old who looks like a kitten, she’s so petite! We do not know for sure how these three would be with dogs.

We are CLOSED again this Thursday for New Year’s Day, but have open hours the regular times on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Thank you for all your support this year, and again please stay tuned for our year end wrap-up post!

Also at the end of the photos is a recent picture of all five of my babies on my bed, including Sir Dragonfly ❤️

Happy holidays from the Community Cat Connection to all of our wonderful staff members, adopters, volunteers, donors, supporters, and of course all the kitties!

My kitties, both CCC foster alumni, got a nice gift of this cute Christmas house (from us) and have been taking turns snoozing in it!

Please feel free to share pictures of your kitties around your holiday setups, because we all know they are always involved with decorations.

🎉 That’s (almost) a wrap! If you adopted a cat from us this year, we’d love to hear how they’re doing! We love getting updates from adopters as it helps us reminisce about the beloved cats that have come through our shelter. Every cat is special, and we’d love to hear from you with pictures and whatever other info you’d like to share, and we can keep it on hand for Forever Friday posts. Please send us a message or email with your kitty’s name and some info on how they’ve been doing since they came home!

😻 Also, stay tuned for our year-end posts sharing how many kitties came through our shelter this year, how many found homes, and a look back at some special rescue stories. ❤️ Thank you to all who have supported us this year, it was one for the record books!

Happy Monday! Sorry for the late update this evening. We have a few new kitties, and several kitties have gone home! Tylor & Nash, Buster & Jolie, Raven & Moonstone, Brock, Moose, and Marshmallow went home! Stormy is on deposit, and Thumbs is going home soon.

New kitties include Coconut and Chloe, Peanut & Cashew, Wendy and Tinkerbell. Coconut & Chloe are not bonded, but were found in the same area as young stray cats. Tinkerbell and Wendy are also from the same area as one another and were found as strays. Peanut & Cashew are a super cute bonded pair of kittens that spent some time in foster getting friendly and healthy, and are now ready for their forever home. We are unsure about the stray kitties and how they would be with dogs or young children, but we assume they are all good with other cats as they were living out on the streets with other cats.

We are CLOSED for Christmas this week, but open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-7 and Saturday 10-1. Come down to get some last minute unique gifts that we have available for sale, and perhaps meet your new best friend!

Edit to add- Marshmallow has found a home and been adopted!

Looking for a forever home for a beautiful lady named Marshmallow! Her fantastic foster wrote up this nice description of her, please read below:

“The saying Love is Patient, Love is Kind also applies to our feline friends. This shy cat named Marshmallow is waiting for her forever home where she can be a perfect, beautiful addition to any room. Marshmallow will need a patient person to help her come around. She’s had a tough life outside but enjoys being an indoor cat now. When she first goes home, she would do best in an office or spare room where the door can be closed as she acclimates. She enjoys napping in the sun and treats. Marshmallow is a loud snorer! Marshmallow was trapped twice in Oxford. The first time she was part of a TNR program but the second time, she was brought to the CCC to be fostered. She truly enjoys being waited on and having a warm, safe space where she can relax knowing she will be fed. She will come close to her humans but does not like to be pet yet. Shy cats are often very loyal once they come around! Would you love to stare at this blue eyed girl while working from home or watching TV? Then Marshmallow is the cat for you!”

If Marshmallow sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out to us and we can coordinate a visit, as she is not located at our shelter. Let’s find her a wonderful forever home!
