One of our rescue partners asked us to accept this little male scruffy terrier into our program. He is under 2 years of age and had spent the last few months living on the streets of Alabama. He was shy and timid and eluded all attempts to be brought to safety. He was then hit by a car and sustained a significant fracture to multiple parts of is back left leg. The team was able to pick him up and take him in for emergency treatment. He leg had started to heal incorrectly with the breaks and ultimately the surgeon could not save his leg. Tripods do very well when the amputation is a back leg. He has learned to get around and will even jump on his foster moms lap and bed. He would do best in a quiet home as he is slow to trust. His leg was not his only medical issue, he tested positive for Heartworms. He is receiving HW treatment in Alabama and should have a full recovery! He has been through so much and is deserving of a loving, patient, quiet home. If you would like to learn more please email [email protected]
