Figured I would post locally since the bail out is our back yard. Sad story but happens more then you think. Maybe someone here has information on this horse.

Found this little story.

My dad has bees.Today I went to his house and he showed me all of the honey he had gotten from the hives. He took the lid off of a 5 gallon bucket full of honey and on top of the honey there were 3 little bees, struggling. They were covered in sticky honey and drowning. I asked him if we could help them and he said he was sure they wouldn't survive. Casualties of honey collection I suppose.
I asked him again if we could at least get them out and kill them quickly, after all he was the one who taught me to put a suffering animal (or bug) out of its misery. He finally conceded and scooped the bees out of the bucket. He put them in an empty Chobani yogurt container and put the plastic container outside.
Because he had disrupted the hive with the earlier honey collection, there were bees flying all over outside.
We put the 3 little bees in the container on a bench and left them to their fate. My dad called me out a little while later to show me what was happening. These three little bees were surrounded by all of their sisters (all of the bees are females) and they were cleaning the sticky nearly dead bees, helping them to get all of the honey off of their bodies. We came back a short time later and there was only one little bee left in the container. She was still being tended to by her sisters.
When it was time for me to leave we checked one last time and all three of the bees had been cleaned off enough to fly away and the container was empty.
Those three little bees lived because they were surrounded by family and friends who would not give up on them, family and friends who refused to let them drown in their own stickiness and resolved to help until the last little bee could be set free.
Bee Sisters. Bee Peers. Bee Teammates.
We could all learn a thing or two from these bees.
Bee kind always.~

I’m the thoroughbred for poor men
they say Ive got an ‘ugly head’,
Not glamourous like a racer,
‘coz I pull a ‘cart’ instead,
Im not your pretty show horse,
I havent read the dressage book,
Most people will see past me,
And not give me a second look,
They don’t see my robust body,
They don’t see my hardened feet,
They don’t see the better doer,
I don’t need premium to eat,
They don’t know that I’m steadfast,
I desire to be your mate,
Once I know I can trust you,
Im waitin ‘ at the gate,
They don’t know I am a trier,
I want to do my best,
I may need to learn some lessons,
To pass the riding test,
Yeah I may have some old baggage,
But give me time you’ll see,
Just have faith in this here Standy,
You’ll see what I can be,
I can jump like any warm blood,
I can dance like Arabs too,
I can take you for a trail ride,
Like the Quarter horses do,
I can cut like any stock horse,
I can bring it at Novelties,
I’m for pony club and adult,
For beginner or expertise,
I may just be ‘ A Standy’
Only bred to pull a cart,
But I’ll show you what I can really do,
If you just give me a start.

Why you shouldn’t get into horses

Over the last couple years I’ve started saying something that surprises most people.

And that is - I don’t necessarily recommend that young people get into horses.

“What?!?!” you say.

“But you’ve built your life around horses.”

And you would be right.

But if the child in question isn’t actively begging for riding lessons - I might steer them to an activity with less financial impact.

And less heartbreak.

I might steer them in a direction which allows them more direct control over the outcome of their efforts.

Because any way you slice it - horses are an expensive gamble.

So you’re starting an uphill battle from day one - just to stay in the saddle - let alone excel.

And forget when the time comes to buy a more “talented” horse - then you’re really in for some sticker shock - and you’re about to learn what commitment really means.

But…

If you or your kid has already fallen headlong…

With reckless unbridled abandon…

Then I have nothing for you.

Because the damage is done.

And speaking for myself - I have not found a route of extrication.

So if you’re already in too deep - then know you’re not just committing to a sport but also a lifestyle.

You’re committing to seven days a week…

1 horse or 10 horses deep…

A different kind of love affair.

And heartbreak carried on four legs.

Because once the horse has imprinted itself on your heart…

You don’t have a whole lot of choice in the matter.

Instead you’ve surrendered to their soulful eyes.

Soft muzzles.

And the hybrid power of horse and human in tandem movement.

And like an addict - you’ll do all that you can to keep them in your life.

Because you know that you’re better with them than without them.

Better off with less money in the bank and more p**p in the pasture.

Better off without the manicure and more dirt under your fingernails.

Because for better or worse - the horse has become part of who you are.

And so you’ll muck the stalls and fill the waters and fix the fencing…

You’ll learn to drive a trailer and go to horse shows …

And one day you’ll cry over the loss of your companion, your comrade, your dreamkeeper…

But in spite of all that -

At every bend - you’ll change your path to keep horses in it…

All for just a few more hoofbeats on your heart.
