🐾 Tick Season is Here in Utah—Protect Your Pets! 🐾
Think ticks aren’t a problem in our area? Think again!
There have already been reports of ticks on Antelope Island and in the Salt Lake benches this year. Despite the common belief, ticks are active in northern Utah, and they pose a risk to both pets and people.
🦠 Ticks can carry harmful diseases, including:
Rocky Mountain spotted fever
Colorado tick fever
Tularemia
(Lyme disease is rare here, but still possible.)
✅ How to Keep Your Pet Safe:
🔍 Do Tick Checks – After hikes or time in grassy areas, check your pet:
Around the ears and neck
Between toes
Under the collar
Underbelly and tail area
🌿 Tidy Up Your Yard – Keep grass mowed and clear brush to reduce tick habitats near your home.
🐶 Have your dog or cat on parasite prevention.
