Day 20- Youth experiencing farm life! The Vermont Reindeer Farm and Encore partnered this year to run camps at the farm for three weeks with several sites and it was a huge success! Who doesn't want to snuggle baby goats?

Dasher our 10 year old Reindeer...She is enjoying a little snack..Apple tree limbs! They love the Ieaves. I think those antlers are done growing they feel cool to the touch which means no more blood flowing thru them. We expect her to start shedding that velvet any day. Today is our 45th Wedding Anniversary!! We will celebrate working here at our farm together and making our own yummy wood fired pizza for supper!.We still just enjoy working and being together!

Yesterday was our Lantagne Sister's Day. We get together once a year..no one else can come..only us original 4 girls! It is our tradition. We look forward to it every year. This year met here at our farm in our pavilion. Thank goodness for pavilion..even in the rain we just carried on.WHO LOVES YOUR SISTERS? Oh I love our Mini Donkeys so much! This is our Apple Jack and YES he loves Apples! He is 9 years old all ready.
Scottish Highlander Hairy! She is 21 years old and going strong..I think it is all the fruits and vegetables she gets as treats! This time of year the best treat is wild apples. I play a game with her and hide them in her hay! Actually I do that with most of the apple loving animals around here. They love apples. I pick up several 5 gallon bucket fulls every day...chop them up and feed to Reindeer..ponies..cows...donkeys and goats.
Michael our Scottish Highlander is growing like a weed.He has the most spectacular coloring this summer.Lots of people would pay lots of money for those highlights! He loves hanging out in these little trees for shade.Love him alot!

Poppa loves our Old Scottish Highlander Hairy. She has bonded with him over the past year and a half since she moved here to our farm. She would follow him to the end of the earth. Poppa has been a dairy farmer his whole life! He is a great "cow" man.

Our animals are safe and so are we. Starting tomorrow we will be having summer day campers here! This is one of our stations..it is called Wilderness Camp. Campers will be able to play camping here. When I was little I loved pretend cooking with leaves...flowers...bark...seeds..dirt etc. John and I have created this special place for kids to just play...use their imagination and enjoy being outside. We are excited! We do have a few spots left for our Art Camps those campers will have access to this Special place to. Contact me for a Camp Registration form!
Remember that old 1943 Manure Spreader we bought? Well Poppa has it up and running! Spreading poop on the fields fertilizes them and makes them a better field...and it helps us use up all the Manure around here! Poop is big deal around here!
